Dear Professor Pines,
I drove to the site of the 'meteor.' Curiously enough, there was no sign of one. I only found a strange girl in the middle of a crater. She appears to be made of water. Surely I am insane. I quickly examined the girl, and she appears to be in deep pain. I gave her sleeping pills to buy me time to figure out what to do with her. Please tell me I'm insane. Oh, and I named the girl 'Splashroom' after your sister. Well, for now, I'll try to get a good night's sleep. Good night.
Your former student and friend,
Peter
Her eyes slowly opened. Where was she? She had no idea. She tried to move her arms, but she couldn't. It was as if she was stuck in a cage. But weirdly, she felt as if she was one with the cage. As if they were made of the same material. Water. So she was stuck in.. herself?
She had this feeling as if she had been in a cage like this before. Her mind suddenly exploded with hatred and the deepest angers she had ever experienced before. She had no idea why she hated it so much, but just did. With all her might she broke free from the cage.
The glass shattered and the water in the cage flooded the room. The light from the room blinded her eyes, and it took her a second to regain her consciousness. Around the room were big machines. Big machines with giant claws and flashing lights and beeping noises. There were no windows or doors. As soon as her fragile skin touched the cold air, she fell straight to the floor. She gasped for air, but she couldn't breathe. The water from the cage had somehow drained away.
"Help.." She whispered. An alarm suddenly went off. Red lights flashed, a siren blared throughout the room. Minutes later, the scientist rushed into the room to find his laboratory in a mess. His papers which had been scattered all over the floor were now soaked. Glass from the cage he set up to protect the girl was scattered all over the room. Computer screens were smashed and some of the light bulbs were missing.
What happened? He thought to himself. It couldn't of been Splashroom. She was in the cage that should've been indestructible! He had borrowed a clear cage from his close friend Professor Pines to contain Splashroom in. The cage had contained several other animals in it, such as tigers and lions, for zoos and circuses. Maybe it was too old and weak from the animals? He shook his head. Splashroom was hurt, she needed his help.
The day before, he had discovered that direct contact with water helped Splashroom cope with pain. It was a strange discovery, and had confused the scientist, but he had shrugged it off.
He carried Splashroom on his back, and ran down the halls of the building. Where with water could he bring the girl? His lab was located in a remote town in Oregon, and the closest natural source of water was the springs nearby, but that was miles away. Where else, where else?? He panicked as he got into his van. He put the girl down gently on the passengers seat, and buckled her seat-belt on. He didn't care enough to put his on, so he sped away.
