We had separated into two groups as we spent the next 50 minutes shifting our bodies and running around the court in attempt to shoot the basketball into the hoop. The other team had won by 2 points seeing as the new girl clearly had a few tricks up her sleeve, earning high fives from a few of the other girls.

She was getting praised for everything and it was quite annoying.

I departed myself from the gym and headed back towards empty the locker room before the bell rang. The sweat on the back of my neck was making me feel like diving headfirst into the school pool and not coming back up until the end of the school year.

Once i reached my locker, i spent about two minutes fiddling with the crappy lock that wouldn't budge.

"Such a cheap school." I mumbled under my breathe, blowing a few strands of my hair out of the way.

"Do you always talk to yourself?" A voice asked from behind me, causing me to jump in surprise.

Startled, i turned to find the new girl leaning against another row of lockers, amusement clear on her face as she took sight of my struggle.

I quickly turned back to my locker, growing even more embarrassed than before. So she did hear everything i said at the lake. What was she even doing in here?

Her footsteps got closer until i felt her presence right beside me. I looked up at her face that was a few inches away from me, the scar on her forehead was now visible. I didn't know why but i felt my heart rate slightly pick up its speed.

Her dark eyes looked down at me seeing as she was taller by a few inches and i felt my breathe hitch at the back of my throat at our sudden proximity that had taken me off-guard. I never get nervous around people so this took me aback.

Clearing my throat, i stepped back a bit to let the girl open the locker i had previously been struggling with.

"Let me." She said, waving away any awkwardness that was in the air. If she had felt anything weird, she didn't show it at all. The locker opened in one swift motion as i rolled my eyes.

"Thanks." I said curtly wanting to be out of the locker room as fast as possible. I pulled my T shirt over my head and stepped out of my gym shorts so that i was just in my under garments. I threw the sweaty clothes into the small spaced locker before grabbing my clothes that were neatly folded in the compartment before turning around to find the girl still standing there, leaning against another locker as her eyes studies me.

I found myself tense up under her gaze before quickly dressing up and shutting the locker just as the locker room began to fill up with the rest of the girls. I released a breathe of air i didn't know i was holding just as i rushed past the taller female and headed to my next class.

Why did i feel like i couldn't breathe with her there? A million thoughts raced through my head but i pushed them away, i didn't have the time to pay mind to irrelevant things at this point in my life.

Just hearing the word 'chemistry' triggered an eye roll. Or two in fact.

The whole class had moved into the lab room, partners already sitting together as our professor passed out safety goggles. I sat by myself in the back of the room near the windows since i didn't have an assigned partner. Emily and Zoe were sitting on the opposite side of the room a couple of tables away. I took a seat on the stool and slid the goggles onto my face, adjusting the uncomfortable glasses on the bridge of my nose, adjusting to the dirty view it was providing me with.

"Alright listen up, all directions on the sheets of paper placed on your tables. Follow each step carefully and you'll be fine as long as you don't mix the wrong chemicals together." He spoke, accent thick while he eyed us.
