Notes and disclaimers: sorry if you don't like gore, I just ran out of photos for this so I put up a picture of some of the fx makeup I did with tissues, glue, and paint. Be prepared for either crying or disbelief because someone's going to die and it's someone that I'm going to regret killings off entirely ;-; . I don't own yu-gi-oh. Also @YamiRyou666 made some amazing fan art for this story, I just wasn't sure if they would want me to have it up on the chapter. Seriously it looks awesome :D

The group made their way to the wall whilst carrying a multitude of weapons. They could already hear some of the undead outside, gnawing and gnashing their teeth. The guards outside shot the few in the way and slowly began opening the gate. Melvin was the first to walk out; instead of having a gun out right away, he had something more simple. In his hands he carried a large metal bat that had nails randomly protruding everywhere and was dented in a few places. The next person of the group was Ryou. He had a hand gun, a 22 millimeter to be exact, and some extra ammo. Marik exited after the albino, his weapon was a machete. Finally the grumpy Bakura exited; he had a gun along with an extra knife, just in case. They began their way into the abandoned town yet again. Marik seemed more nervous than usual, looking around a bit in worry. Little did any of them know, their was a good reason for this. As they were walking they began to notice how it was way too quiet. Something wasn't right. As they were walking they came across a corpse. It was fresh and didn't look infected.
Mariks pov
I noticed that fluffy stopped in front of a dead carcass. I was confused so I tilted my head...why on earth is he gesturing for me to come over...wait- oh frig no!

Bakura brought Marik over to the corpse "sorry Marik but you need to eat..." he gestured to it. The zombie gave a look of slight sadness, he always felt bad when he ate humans. Marik fell on his knees anyways and picked up one of the limp arms, "you..might...want to turn..around." His voice rasped out. Ryou instantly looked away, Melvin watching with fascination, Bakura turned around once marik sunk his teeth into the flesh. The zombie hated doing this but his stomach had an overwhelming hunger...he was usually good at ignoring this but he couldn't help himself as he took more and more bites. He felt disgusted with himself. With the creature he became.

Once marik finished he stood up, blood was slightly dripping down his chin. He was going to wipe it off when he suddenly heard loud groaning and approaching footsteps...like a horde. He looked at Bakura and started frantically tapping his shoulder. The albino turned but it was too late, the horde was in sight and some of the undead began to sprint. The group started running Ryou shooting at a few of them. "Look there's a gate up ahead! I think it's to a mall!" The gate was slowly closing, marik got in first, the person already inside let off a shout. Bakura quickly ran in to explain the situation before a loud gunshot sounded off. He was about to freak out only to see that the person killed themselves. Marik was frowning and slumped against the wall, blaming himself for the persons death. Melvin quickly ran in, thinking Ryou already went in. The gate closed entirely and Ryou ran into it. Melvins eyes widened as time seemed to slow down. Ryou's eyes watered up, he looked petrified but he still slowly managed to smile once he saw Melvin's face. It was filled with terror, grief, and so many other emotions. The albino looked behind and saw the group getting closer "don't worry Melvin." "OPEN THE GATE BAKURA!!" Ryou slipped and arm through one of the holes and lightly carcasses his face "I love yo-" the horde was there. Ryou's blood splattered across melvins face and he let off a grief stricken scream of agony. 
((I'm actually about to cry. I didn't want to kill Ryou but I wanted to add some sadness because this is the apocalypse after all....please don't destroy me.))
