Louis climbed out of bed to the smell of bacon and pancakes wafting through the apartment.
The rain pelted against the window and a grey fog clouded any view out if it, oh they joys of living in London. The cold air stung his warm body sending shivers down his spine.
He threw on one of Harry's T-shirts that had been discarded on the floor from the night before.
"G'morning sunshine" he greeted a smiley Harry prancing around the kitchen, juggling pots and pans in nothing but an apron and boxers.
"Good-morning babe" Harry placed a small kiss on Louis' lips "happy anniversary!" He smiled widely, looking as though his cheek would burst.
"Happy anniversary!" Louis agreed, smiling brightly reaching up for another kiss.
Today, five years ago, Harry and Louis went on their very first date.
The simple dinner date was still etched in both their minds as though it was just yesterday.
"I honestly can't believe it's been five years!" Louis marvelled aloud.
"I know" Harry smiled fondly in returned.
They kissed passionately before Harry pulled back earning a whine from Louis.
"Now, I have to get back to that pan before it burns, but, you get your adorable ass back into that bed I'll and bring it in" he concluded with a wink and a squeeze on Louis bum.
"Cheeky" Louis mused making his way back to the room and hopping back under the cozy covers of the bed.
Louis picked up his phone attempting to busy himself but the butterflies in his stomach would not rest.
He reached over to his bedside locker, sliding open the drawer to check for the hundredth time that the little red velvet box was, in fact, still there.
He smiled to himself thinking of his plan. They had already decided that Harry would do breakfast, or lunch because neither of them had planned on getting up before noon. Then Louis would take over and decide how they would spent the evening.
"It's ready!" Harry burst through the door greeting Louis with a massive smile.
Harry set a tray down on Louis' lap. Typical Harry, Louis thought.
Strips of crispy bacon on a bed of two heart-shaped berry pancakes. A glass of fresh orange juice and tea with just the right amount of milk in Louis' favourite mug. And a little vase of flowers just because.
"Babe it's wonderful! Thank you!" He gently placed a chaste kiss to Harry's lips "I love you"
"I love you too Louis. Now, I know we said we're not getting each other any gifts, but" Harry produced a package, carefully wrapped with perfection.
"Harry! Never one to follow rules were you?" Louis smiled fondly. "Thank you"
"Wrapped it yourself did you?" Louis teased with a smirk.
"It even has a little bow on it" they said in unison.
"Oh god I was so embarrassing!" Harry his his face in Louis' shoulder.
"No, you were just in love" Louis fondly replied. "So are you going to help me eat this or what?" He smiled.
But first he carefully unwrapped his present, revealing a cd?
