After we left Eddi's Alec said he had somewhere fun to go. Being me, I reminded him of the issue at hand, and being him, he told me to relax and just enjoy the moment.
That didn't sit well with me. We've got one job – to take these cuffs off, why are we prolonging this?
"Close your eyes." He said.
"You want me to close my eyes while we drive there? The whole time?" I crossed my arms, "That's not happening."
He thrusted his head in front of mine as if to communicate his seriousness, "Close them!"
"Get your bean-shaped head out of my face!" I scolded.
"Bean-shaped? My head is not bean-shaped!" He scowled. "Close your eyes or we're not going."
I groaned, "Fine."
I had to admit, resting my eyes for a bit didn't sound like the worst thing in the world. I barely slept last night what with the hundreds of thoughts running through my mind paired with Alec's obnoxious snoring.
Then, I felt a cloth thrown over my face that didn't smell particularly good. I was about to protest, but almost as if he knew what I'd say, Alec said, "There's no way I'm trusting you to keep your eyes closed the whole way. You're keeping that on."
So, I crossed my arms and sunk into the seat. The last thing I remember was my heading slumping to the side and the sound of the music being turned down...

I woke up to violent shaking and a roaring, "We're here! Wake up!"
My eyes shot open as I started pushing Alec off of me, "Ok, ok. I'm up!"
"Don't look!" His hand suddenly clamped down on my eyes.
"I'm not!" I whined, feebly trying to shake him off.
Once we got out of the car (which was incredibly difficult considering I had to keep my eyes closed), Alec put his hands on my eyes and led me forward.
"Not yet. Don't worry, I'm not going to murder you, sweetheart."
Well that wasn't comforting. That wasn't even in my thoughts until now.
"I just don't want some weenie leaving me in the middle of a desert today, understand?" I snickered at my not-so creative name.
He chuckled deeply, "A weenie won't, I will."
My eyes flew upon and I lurched forward, to which he responded with a strong tug. My back landed against his hard chest. I could feel the warmth of his body and steady breathing as he lowered his head, "You're forgetting we're cuffed together. You're not going anywhere."
I froze, butterflies erupting in my stomach. Why did he have to do that?
He pushed away almost as quickly as he had caught me, "We're almost there."
I sighed. Alec sure was excited about this place...was he actually happy to be here...with me? The thought made me slightly queasy, in a weird way.
Suddenly, my phone started ringing. I could tell by the ringtone exactly who it was – Luke.
"Shit," I said, "I have to answer it."
I couldn't ignore Luke. What if he was calling about Surina? Maybe he was just as confused as I was about it.
Alec slid my phone out of my pocket and handed it to me, refusing to take his hand off of my face.
I cleared my throat and tried to sound as normal as possible, "Hey!"
