The usual snobby frown etched into Brin's features seemed permanent today. It didn't even twitch as we approached her.

"Where have you been? I've been calling you!" She whined at him, then directed her anger towards me. "What the hell are you doing with her?"

"I-I." I tried to speak – to say something worthy of the situation. Just one insult. But, I couldn't. For the first time, my mind was an absolute blank. What was I supposed to say? We're handcuffed, sorry.

Alec interrupted my inner dialogue, "It's not her fault Brin." He pulled our hands even closer behind our backs, which, she noticed. Who wouldn't? It was such a jolted movement; not smooth at all.

Her eyes narrowed into devilish slits, "You-."

"Brin, it's nothing. Back off." His tone was low and commanding, making her shift a bit.

I wanted to laugh. I don't know why, but seeing Brin uncomfortable made me want to burst into laughter. What if I had actually spilled what was happening? Sorry Brin, we were in the boy's bathroom. She would definitely take that the wrong way.

Alec suddenly put his arm around me, closing the distance and slamming my body into his sculpted one. I flinched, trying to move, but he didn't budge.

Brin ground her teeth, "What, she's another toy? I thought you were done with that."

Avoiding the question, he shrugged, "I got to go. I'll explain later." With that, he rushed us away, pulling our cuffed hands in front us so she wouldn't notice.

Disgusted, I shot at him, "One of your toys? That's the best you could come up with?"

"In my defense, there was no other way." I could've sworn he was smiling before his expression returned to a grimace.

"There's got to be a ton of other ways." I rolled my eyes.

He sighed and changed the subject as we hurried to the parking lot. "There's an Ace down the street. They can probably help."

I nodded in agreement, pretending I had known the same thing, "Yeah, ok."

"Alright, my car is right ov-." He started.

"Whoa, you can't drive." I interjected.

Alec snorted, "Why not?"

"Because you're cuffed to me!"

"So? I can drive one handed." He began dragging me to his car again and I yanked back.

"No. It's dangerous. We could crash. You could kill me." I protested.

He rolled his eyes, "Virgins and their rules."

My brows shot up in shock, "What did you just say to me?"

"Nothing." He murmured.

Admittingly a bit embarrassed, I decided to act like I didn't hear him and tugged on the cuff, "We're walking."

He threw a small tantrum before agreeing and huffing along the sidewalk. As we walked, bystanders stared in our direction, giving strange looks when they saw the cuffs.

"People are staring." I whispered.

"Bet you wish we had driven now." He snickered.

***

"If we can't get it off no one can!" An overweight, burly man grinned from ear to ear when Alec lifted the cuffs.

I didn't try to hide my skepticism, understandingly so. But it didn't matter what I thought, Alec assumed he knew all, so he didn't hesitate in dragging me to the 'back' through a pair of ominous double doors.
