chapter 4: tears and love

david's pov:
[the next day]
i opened my eyes, i saw that me and liza were both in the music room and i was on the ground in an unusual position.
i pull myself up as i notice liza playing the piano and singing lyrics quietly.
i look up and try being as quiet as possible, so she couldn't hear me.
i heard her beautiful voice as she sang these lyrics:
"we're young and naive
and you're telling me
that someday we'll run off together
i'm starting to think
i'm stuck in a dream
'cause we're young and we don't know better"
she then stops to catch her breath as she glanced over to me and froze.
"oh... david..." liza says, embarrassed.
she blushed
"did you hear any of that?" liza asks
i look down and smile
"you sound beautiful, liza..." i say, as my eyes start watering
liza looks down, heartbroken
she starts tearing up as her makeup starts running down her face
i grab a tissue, and hand it to her quickly
"david, do you love me?" liza asks
i look down, guilty
we both kissed yesterday, but that wasn't enough to say i truly love her.
"why?" i ask
"david, would you die for me?" liza asks again
i don't answer
liza looks down at the ground, as her face looks pale.
"i guess you don't care about me then..." liza whispers, as she gets up and leaves the room.
i try going after her, but i stop.
i sat down and i felt as if i just broke her heart like a glass window.
i see her, as tears run down her face.
i walk over to her, but she ignores me
"liza... look, you mean so much to me. you don't know what i'd do for you, i swear i would die for you, if you died, i would too. you make me believe in fate, liza. whatever is wrong, you can tell me." i say
liza gets up and hugs me tightly, as she cries on my shoulder.
"david, again, do you love me?" liza asks
"of course, liza" i say, smiling.
she didn't tell me the reason why she was crying, i was curious but i was too afraid to ask.
liza held my hand tightly as she mouths the words "i love you"
i grin
i kiss her passionately as she blushed
"im so glad you're my best friend liza" i say
"me too" liza replies
we both leaned on each other's heads as we walk together to class.
