Chapter Five: Messages for the Sick

For the first time in a long time I was sick. Not like a cold or anything, but I mean actually sick where I take a grand trip to the bathroom to greet that toilet. It's not more ideal way to spend the day, especially not being able to go to my career class after sitting through all of the other lectures.

For my career class it's engineering based, so I get to do a lot of drafting work on the computer using computer aided design. It's a lot of fun, but it can be extremely difficult when I have no idea what I'm doing. As much as I love my home school after everything that's happened, I'm really relieved that I don't have to show up in person for school. It's pretty nice.

Lucy isn't really taking the news too easy though. Matthew tells me that all she does is complain that I get to stay home and no have to come to school. However, I think she fails to realize that I had somebody basically say that I'm next. It could be taken many different ways; I think most people take it as in dying next though.

There's a gentle knock on my door as I'm watching videos about cats online. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love cats okay. They have a little devil side to them most of the time, but you know, that's okay in my eyes. Cats are just cats. That's all that can be said about them.

"Hey baby doll," Felix softly says. "Are you feeling any better?"

I make a pouting face, "No. If anything I feel worse."

"Well, I brought you some homemade chicken noodle soup fro my mom's house. She told me that she hopes you get feeling better soon," Felix states, sitting down next to me in bed. "Was Matt here earlier?"

I nod, "Yeah, he came to pick up my homework and take it to class for me. It was hard to pay attention to the lecture when I kept getting up to throw up in the toilet. Why do you ask?"

"Poor thing," he rubs my back. "I was just curious if you've heard anything from his side of the story about Hannah. He hasn't really said much to anyone lately and I figured if he was going to talk to anyone it would be you."

I cough hard a few times, Felix waiting for my reply, "He's mentioned a little bit to me but not really much. Matt is a great friend, I don't think he would do anything to harm Hannah. He's so destroyed over losing her Felix."

"Well I would be the same way if you died sweetheart. Would you miss me if I was gone?"

"No," I say jokingly, before winking. "Yes silly goose, I would miss you a lot. I would probably be destroyed just like he is if you died."

Felix sprawls out on my bed, "I think I'm just going to stay right here and take a nap. It's a nice place to nap, don't you thing?"

"Whatever floats your boat Felix," I smirk, turning my attention to my laptop.

My computer makes a binging noise as I see an email from this Jay person. I nervously stare at it before debating whether to open it in front of Felix. Shrugging my shoulders, I pull up my email and instantly open the message up.

Greetings Julia,

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Hannah. She was quite a star in her own way. Let me properly introduce myself that way you don't think I'm some random creep hitting on Hannah.

My name is Jay Miller, I'm twenty-five years old. Hannah and I had met when she was on her college visit trip. Recently I have just gained custody of my four year old sister from my parents because they have fallen into hard times. Hannah and I had strictly friendship, given that I am gay and have zero interest in females.

I started watching her videos a little over four months ago to help my boyfriend put makeup on because he was struggling himself. With the help of Hannah, he's been doing better and I've been learning along the way. My little sister instantly became a fan of the blog, falling in love with how pretty all of you were.
