Chapter 2
(Rebecca's POV)
When the sun crept through Sophie's bedroom window, I sprung up with excitement, and woke Sophie up by pushing her off the couch. She screamed, and realized what today was. We ran to grab our clothing, and went into separate bathrooms to get ready. With the convention a few hours away, I eventually got ready in 2 hours, still waiting on Sophie to get ready. My hair was curled, with my bangs pinned back. After what seemed like an eternity, she came out of her bathroom with her hair put up in a perfect bun like a ballerina would wear, her bangs down, and a sparkly headband that matched her dress amazingly.
"You look so pretty!" I called out to her and hugged her.
"Not as pretty as you! You look beautiful!!" she replied.
We both giggled and started grabbing everything we would need while we were there, and Sophie put them into a bag a little larger than a purse.
We then drove to the convention, barely finding a parking spot.
Immediately, we were bombarded with bodies of people we had never seen before. "I've never seen this many people in one place before," I shouted to Sophie over all of the voices.
I scanned the crowd and anxiously looked around for Jack and Mark. Sophie was attempting to do the same, but due to her fear of literally almost everyone, she was having a little more difficulty than me. Wanting to take care of my best friend and also wanting to get out of the crowd, I grabbed her wrist and dragged her over to a section of the large area that had very few people in it.
Once we were there, we both breathed a breath of fresh air and continued searching around the room for Jack and Mark, both of us subconsciously focusing on finding Jack more. I was beginning to give up, but when I looked over at Sophie, I saw her standing there with her eyes wide and her mouth gaping open. I traced her gaze to where she was looking, and was amazed to see both of them hiding behind a corner and breathlessly looking at how many people there were.
I grabbed her wrist and she snapped out of her trance.
"Come on, let's go!" I announced excitedly as I dragged her quickly and nonchalantly towards the two guys with her feet dragging a little bit as she hurriedly walked with me.
Finally, we were about ten steps away from them, but they hadn't noticed us yet. We both took a big breath, linked our arms, and took a big step forward so that we were right in front of them. They looked surprised as they didn't know that anyone was able to see them, but that look quickly changed to smiling and happy. Not knowing what to say, we both just stood there awkwardly with our arms connected to each other.
After a long, awkward silence, Mark finally said something.
"Hey! I don't mean to sound rude, but you two are kinda drawing a little bit of attention to us, and we were meaning to stay hidden here. Would you mind coming with us to the back area so that we can talk? We would really love meeting the both of you!" He said, his eyes staring mesmerizingly at Sophie. She didn't even notice. She was too busy giving the same look to Jack. I would've been doing the same, but I was doing my best to be polite.
"Of course!" We both said in unison.
We followed the two backstage, and sat down to actually talk.
"I am so glad to finally meet you guys in person! I've watched literally all of you guys' videos!" I said, my stomach filling with joy, excitement, and nervousness.
Both of them sat there looking intently at us, smiling. Sophie was bouncing up and down in her seat as she usually does when she gets excited. I could hear her quietly giggling a little bit.
"I'm glad that you have supported us. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have been here," Jack stated smiling at me. "So what are your names?"
"I'm Rebecca, and that's Sophie," I replied, nudging her with my elbow.
"Hi! Hi!! It's so great to meet you guys! I love all of your videos so much! Both of you! Oh my god I'm so nervous! I just love you both so much!!!" She said, beginning to hyperventilate.
"Well, don't be nervous. Treat us like we are your best friends, because that's what we want to be for you," Mark said, laughing lightly, making her giggle a little.
"I'm actually really honored that you decided to bring us backstage. I never thought that I would actually be meeting you in person," I said, about to squeal.
"Of course! We love all of you so much, and we couldn't stand the thought of not properly meeting two girls that are just so beautiful!" Jack stated through his giant smile. Both Sophie and I blushed intensely, not knowing what to say.
Our conversation with the two youtubers continued until they said that they had to go meet the other fans. We all exchanged phone numbers and they said that if we wanted, we could wait backstage for them until they were done and we could go get some drinks at our local pub then. We decided to take them up on that offer, so we waited backstage for about three hours.
"Hey! Sorry we took so long, It's quite self explanatory," Jack laughed out.
"Yeah, I understand. How can you deal with so many people?" Sophie asked.
"You'd be surprised," Mark replied.
