Mommy, I'm Lost

Mommy? I whispered to myself as the lights went out, and a very familiar sound echoed in my room.

"Could you please stop?" I asked. Same question a day that is coming out from my mouth, but still, nothing happened.

I curled up in my bed as I held the blanket tightly. I closed my eyes, counted from one to three, then prayed.

He's still here, trying to invade my thoughts again. No, not anymore, you freaking son of a bitch!

"Wanna play hide and seek, kiddo?" he asked -- his voice remained calm even though I am here, hiding beneath this blanket for him not to take my sanity away.

I am such a coward.

Well, when was the last time I became strong? Being strong doesn't exist in my vocabulary, though.

The next day, I woke up with a slight smile on my face. I survived the night, and I don't have any idea regarding it. Removing some of my morning glory away, I stepped outside of my room.

The smell of the fried rice. . . I will not be able to smell it as soon as I stepped out of my room anymore.

No fried rice means no mom.

No mom means no fried rice.

No mom means not having anything at all.

Anything-at-all.

None.

I went downstairs, then stared at my dad who's sipping his coffee. He seem so fine, and better off without mom. He seem so fine, and better off without her only daughter. How could he do that?

"Hi," I said as I tried snatching a single glance, but I failed

Okay.

I'm okay.

Ok-ay

I shrugged, turned my back, and walked towards the kitchen. I don't know how to cook so I was hoping that he could at least made a simple breakfast for me.

None.

Look what we have here! A very nice father, ignoring her daughter, and not cooking a breakfast for her!

"This is just the start of your miserable life, Olivia," I whispered to myself, as I ran out of my dad's apartment.
