Not So Typical

Chapter Ten

"You guys kissed?" Avery said in a quiet voice.

A sudden wave of oppression took over the room. I'm not going to lie to her because she can always detect them. But I was really dreading this day. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It would be stupid to think she wouldn't find out.

"Well... I- I... Yes." I finally managed to sputter out.

"What the hell K! You know how I feel about him! Why would you kiss him, do you like him?! I can't believe this I'm is so stupid! This whole time you've been trying to get him all to yourself . " She yelled at me in disbelief while pacing her room.

"It wasn't my fault! You know I don't like people! He just came on to me and it happened. I can't take it back. He won't leave me alone. And I know you liked him but don't act like I slept with him or something!" I quickly countered back.

"You might as well! I would have never thought you of all people would steal my man." She said while shaking her head.

I'm going to implode right now. This is how she really feels. "Are you serious right now? Your being completely irrational. First of all he is single and further most not your man according to Roman. Secondly he basically asked me out and I said no because of you! I know you like him. Thirdly I've never done shit like this to you. So don't act like you just met me. I've been trying to put you two together and he has actually told me to stop. For some reason you don't see the signs that are flung in your face! But I'm done explaining." I told her straight up. I grabbed my stuff and walked out her room. She walked up to the door frame not daring move an inch more.

"Okay walk away! Who are you going to next though?! To think my best friend would do this to me!" She stomped her foot and yelled after me.

I can't stand her right now. Ms. Cherry tried to ask what was going on but I shook my head and walked back to my car. I pulled out my phone and texted Eva and Alla in the group chat we created and texted them to meet me at a park about ten minutes away from Avery's house asap. I knew she would be upset but she made it out like I was acting like a hoe or something! Ughhhh, I just wanna pull my hair out. Roman just ruins everything for me.

Fifteen minutes later I'm at the park sitting in the grass stuffing my face spilling all the beans to Alla and Eva. Any other day it would have been a good picnic spot but today I just need to get all my stress out.

"They want to move?" Alla said with serious tone. She then turned to Eva and the air was suddenly filled with strange tension. It seemed like there was a underlying issue going on but nobody seemed to want to bring it up.

"Do know where?" Eva asked this time.

"Yah Greenland." I said while finishing my food. I really need to go on a serious diet..... why do I lie to myself.

They both looked unsettled, concerned and something else that wasn't quite clear. Again I feel like they're not telling me everything. But I believe that time will reveal all things. Alla started vigorously texting someone while the tension stood still.

"You guys seem to be handling it worst than me." I joked trying to nudge on a conversation.

"It's just... I- I just don't want you to go!" Alla wailed while pulling me into a suffocating choke hold which I'm guessing is supposed to be a hug. I hug her back and patted her head trying to console her.

"And what about Avery what did you guys fight about?" Eva asked.

"She kinda-sorta  found out about Roman kissing me." I told them while packing my empty to-go container away. Unfortunately I'm still not satisfied.
