I hear my alarm go off at least 3 times before I finally decide to drag myself out of bed. The morning is the same as always. I get ready, drive to school, then get through honors band class at least somewhat awake. I can't stand with James this morning, I just can't. I'm still pretty upset with him. I walk over to my friend Cheyanne. I have my last class with her during the day, but other than that, I don't get to see her too much because she is involved so much in dance. She is an amazing dancer though. "Hey Cheyanne." She looks up at me from where she is sitting on the bench. "Hey. Why aren't you over with James?" I have to be careful how I answer this. "Because he is basically a douche canoe." She just laughs and I join her in laughing slightly. She replies, "What did he do?" I answer with a sigh, "He is like flirting with this cheerleader who is on varsity, but she is a freshman. And then he denied it when I ask him about it." Just as she was about to respond, the bell rang to go to our first class. "Wish me luck." I tell Cheyenne and start walking to class. I go through a different door to the hallway, so I won't run into James. I walk into class and James isn't there yet. I sit in my usual seat because I don't want to start and confrontations with any of the other students. He walks into class with a confused look on his face. He sees me then looks relieved. He sits down in the seat beside me, but turns to face me. "Baby, where were you this morning? I was worried, I thought something happened." he asks me. "I'm fine, James, don't worry. I was just helping someone in band with music they are learning." I answer as believably as I can. "Okay babe. I just get worried about my little cupcake sometimes." Our teacher begins class, not giving me the chance to respond, thank goodness. We end class a little early, so our teacher lets us work on our homework together with partners if we want. So, everyone starts moving their desks in groups to work, but mostly just talk about whatever. James pulls his chair closer to me. The teacher can't see us too much because we are on the opposite side of the classroom from where her desk is. James puts his hand on my leg and rubs his thumb gently where it is. "So, I was thinking maybe later, after school and before practice, we can spend a little time together." he says and bites his lip. I respond awkwardly, "Maybe, I might be working on a project with someone after school, but I will see if I can." He moves his hand and then holds my hand. "Please baby, I've missed us doing that." He begs. "Fine, I will tell them they have to wait." He leans over and kisses my cheek, then continues, "I can't wait babe." He says as he winks at me. Great, more awkwardness for today. The bell for our next class rings and we walk over to the class and just act as normal teenagers do in a class. Second class ends, finally, art class. Perfect time to spend without James right now. James walks me to the art room and Kiall is also walking in the door. "Hey Kiall!" I say with a smile on my face. He smiles, "Hey Chloe!" James leans down and kisses me on the cheek and walks away. I walk into the classroom, and go sit next to Kiall. Today is group assignment day. Our teacher stands in the front of the class. "Okay everyone! We will be starting one of our group projects today. Since this is our first one for the semester, you will be choosing names from a basket to decide your partner. This gives you a chance to make new friends and have different art and creativity ideas." Gosh, I hope I get someone I know, or at least I can tolerate. Our teacher continues, "Fate is literally in your hands. Kiall you can go first." Kiall stands up and casually walks over to the basket. He pulls out a name and opens it. He has a little smile on his face. "I'm with Chloe." I don't know why, but I suddenly get small butterflies in my stomach. He comes back over and sits next to me. Once our whole class has chosen their partners, we begin to talk. "So, what do you want to do for our project?" I ask him. "Well, I was thinking maybe something related to Disney, even if it is in a small way, because I know you love Disney and so do I. Plus, every princess should always be able to express herself freely." he answers, and I could feel myself blush slightly. I respond to his suggestion, "That sounds like a wonderful idea." I look at the clock and class is almost over. "Hey, Kiall, are you busy after school? We could maybe hang out and talk about our project." He sighs, "I have to work tonight, but I can for maybe an hour, but no more." I think, then reply, "That's perfectly fine. Whatever fits into your schedule. Meet me by the band room after school?" He smiles, "Sure, see you then." and with that said, the bell rings for us to go to our next class and come closer to ending our day.
