You picked up the PADD and stared at it. A message from Engineering.
Y/N,
Could you come down here to help me with a small malfunction? We're short of a worker so we need you.
Scotty
You looked up. Bones was working on someone and you couldn't leave the Med Bay without his consent. Since you worked there, who knew when he may need you.
"Bones, Scotty asked me to go down to Engineering to help with a 'small malfunction'," you said. Bones glanced up and nodded.
"Be back quick if you can," he said. You nodded and dashed out towards the elevator.
Your heart pounded. Ever since you saw him in Starfleet Academy, you had had a huge crush on Scotty. You wondered what he needed you for. He could've asked anyone!
The elevator opened and you walked in. Scotty stood a few feet away. He beamed when he saw you.
"There ye are, lass! Could ye come with me, please," he said, gesturing you to follow. You nodded, walking along beside him.
The two of you walked for a little bit before coming to a sealed door. He quickly typed in a code and the door slid open, revealing a small space with a nice picnic settled out.
"Scotty, this is so cool!" you said, walking in and sitting down on the blanket. He grinned, sitting beside you and pulling out a PADD.
"I need ye to answer this...uh, survey," he said. You smiled and looked at it. There was only one question, but it made your heart leap into the air.
Do you want to be my girlfriend?
You grinned, clicking the "Yes" box. Scotty cheered beside you and hugged you, kissing your cheek. You kissed him back, wrapping your arms around him as well.
"I love ye, Y/N," he whispered. You smiled, shutting your eyes.
"I love you too, Scotty."
