"Yo, Scott. Scotty, you with me?" Stiles beckoned his friend anxiously. Scott stared at the back of the seat in front of him and jumped when Stiles said his name. "Uh, yeah. Sorry, what's the word?"
"Anachronism."
The three of them were stuffed onto a bus with an angry Coach Finstock and several members of the cross country team, including Sabrina, who sat in the seat across from theirs. She hadn't said much since what happened last night- the fight with the alphas.
It had happened in an abandoned warehouse, Derek, Cora, Boyd, and Isaac against all of the alpha pack. Scott had joined in eventually, warning Sabrina to stay home, but she followed him anyway.
Bad idea. Very bad idea.
It wasn't too long after Sabrina and Scott had arrived that the fighting started. Derek was shocked to see her there, as were Isaac and Boyd. Cora didn't really know who she was. "What is she doing here?" Derek growled to Scott, not even trying to be subtle. "I'm here to help," she told them. Derek glared at her, about to respond when a booming voice stopped him.
"Mr. McCall," an older man who was escorted by a middle aged woman. Sabrina froze. It was the woman with the sharp claws who had confronted her in the alley on her first day in Beacon Hills. Beside her stood the man. Kali and Ennis.
"I'm afraid you've chosen the wrong side, Scott," Deucalion, the blind "demon-wolf" Scott had told her about, said. He had told her he was the leader of the pack. He was extremely dangerous. Scott didn't reply only stared at them, unmoving.
"Something that exists out of its normal time," Scott told Stiles shortly. Stiles nodded, "Nice. Okay next word..." He tapped on the screen of his tablet. "Incongruous."
Minutes later, Isaac and Sabrina were locked into a fierce fight with the twins, who had merged to form one giant Voltron Wolf. They were struggling, even with their abilities combined. Sabrina still couldn't control it completely, but now was the time she let it all loose. Ice shot from her palms, sending the giant alpha back into the concrete wall behind them. Isaac, mid-werewolf, glanced at her, severely impressed. The shot didn't keep the alpha down for long however. They stood again and roared, louder this time. A large hand swiped out and knocked Sabrina to the ground, leaving a little scratch on her cheek. She wiped at the blood, rolling over onto her back to help Isaac again.
"Um, can you use it in a sentence?" Scott asked, shifting in the seat. Stiles nodded, "Yes, yes I can." He glared Scott's way. "It's completely incongruous that were sitting on a bus right now, on our way to some stupid cross-country meet after what just happened. Incongruous," he spat, passive-aggressively. Scott sighed, "Out of place, ridiculous, absurd."
"Perfect," Stiles concluded, "Next word... Darach." Scott stared at him, giving him an annoyed look. "Darach. It's a noun... We have to talk about it sometime, Scott," he said, seeing the annoyed sparkle in his brown eyes, "Okay? And we're gonna be stuck on this thing for like... five hours, so why not?" Scott said nothing and Stiles sighed. "Next word... intransigent."
