The locker door swung open
I looked up from my huddled position, and I was afraid for what I would see.
It was a police officer.
I thanked the lord.
He kneeled down and gestured me out of my hiding spot. I hesitantly crawled out of the locker, and behind him were a few other police officers. I looked out the window behind him, and it was night time already. I wondered in disbelief as to how long I was hiding in there for.
"W-what time is it???" I stuttered when I spoke. My voice was shaky and broken, and I still tasted the tears from my cheeks.
"It's about 5:00, kid. "
His voice was low, yet reassuring.
"Is he gone?- are they gone?" I asked, still shaky.
"The shooters?"
"Yes."
The second cop replied with: " Yes, they've been caught and arrested. You're safe now."
They lead me outside the school, and there I saw my whole family, along with all my classmates. They've been waiting for me. They've been LOOKING for me.My mother ran towards me, and picked me up and began to cry.
My younger brother Brent followed, and my dad raced behind.
"Jason!!!" Brent squealed.
My mother was running her fingers through my hair and kissed my forehead "Honey you're safe!! Oh honey you're safe."
I was relieved to be back in my mothers arms. I raised my eyes from my mothers shoulders, and my next sight would scar me forever. Some paramedics came out of the school with someone on a stretcher.
It was Tyler.
