The cold breeze blew against my face as I waited with Adelaine for Alex. We had been waiting for half an hour now; but he hasn't arrived yet.

"Why is he taking so long?" Adelaine asked me, as she waved her hand, making the wind bigger.

"I don't know. He usually comes really fast. Hey, can you slow the wind? You're distracting me." I replied anxiously. Adelaine shrugged as the wind died down. We waited at the side of the street, but Alex was nowhere in sight.

"Hey, maybe we could take a walk? I'm getting bored." Adelaine complained. We walked further away from the meeting point. It was impossible Alex got lost; we went here every week. There was a beam of light. We prayed it was Alex, but...

It passed us without stopping.

He walked down the street, humming to himself, watching as the flames died on his hands. Then, a sharp sound echoed through my head.

"Oh no! I've lost the connection!" I placed my head in my hands.

Adelaine started to panick, and when she does, the wind around her starts to turn into a mini tornado.

At that moment, my cell phone beeped.

A cold shiver went down my spine as the words crawled into my mind:

"You'll never find him."

Adelaine leaned over my shoulder, gawping at the message on the screen, as we stood there in the darkness.
