Chapter 3

Later that day at the Ponyville train station, Twilight Sparkle was prepared to leave for Manehatten while her family was ready to say farewell to their family member. "We're real proud of you, Twilight." Twilight Velvet said. "Yup, and scared too." Night Light said. "Yes." Twilight Velvet said. "Really, it's a...it's kind of a proud-scared combo." Night Light said. "I mean, Manehatten, so far away, such a big city." "Guys, I've been working for this my whole life." Twilight Sparkle said. "We know, and we're just a little excited for you, but terrified." "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Twilight Sparkle said. "And also ruffians." Night Light said. "We have ruffians to fear too, say nothing of thugs and large bugs." "Large bugs?" Twilight Velvet asked. "Poison ivy!" Night Light said. "You play cribbage with a ruffian." Twilight Velvet said. "Yeah, and he cheats like there's no tomorrow." Night Light said as Twilight Sparkle sighed, and shook her head. "Pretty much all strong ponies, and Manehatten's full of them." "Oh, Night Light." Twilight Velvet said. "And some strong ponies are the worst." Night Light said. "Actually, your father does have a point there. It's in their biology. Remember what happened with Starbeam Glamour?" Twilight Velvet asked talking about Starbeam Glamour who was sent away to boarding school as punishment for his cruelity.

"When I was a filly." Twilight Sparkle said. "Starbeam Glamour was a jerk who happened to be a unicorn. I know plenty of other unicorns who are jerks." "Sure, yeah, we all do, absolutely. But just in case, we made a little care package to take with you." Night Light said as he held up a bag full of stuff with his magic. Twilight Velvet nodded, and said "Mm-mm. I put some snacks in there." Night Light took out a spray bottle as he said "This is a pony deterrent." "Yeah, that's safe to have." Twilight Velvet said. Night Light then took out can of pepper spray, and said "This is a pony repellent." "Okay, the deterrent, and the repellent, that's all she needs." Twilight Velvet said. Night Light took out a taser as he said "Check this out!" He turned on the taser, and it nearly zapped Twilight Sparkle who cringed, and Twilight Velvet said "Oh, for goodness sake!" She made her husband put the taser away as she said "She has no need for a pony taser, Night Light!" "Oh, come on!" Night Light said. "When is there not a need for a pony taser?" Twilight Sparkle then took the pony repellent as she said "Okay, look! I will take this to make you stop talking." Night Light smiled, and said "Terrific! Everypony wins!" Suddenly, the train as the announcer said "Arriving, The Friendship Express." Some ponies got off the train as Twilight Sparkle said "Okay, gotta go! Bye!" She got on the train, but then paused for a second, ran back to her parents, hugged them, and kissed their cheeks as she said "I love you guys!"

"Love you too." Twilight Velvet said. As Twilight Sparkle ran back to the train, Night Light started crying, and said "Oh, cripes. Here come the waterworks!" "Oh, Night Light, pull it together." Twilight Velvet said. Twilight Sparkle got on the train, looked at her family, and said "Bye, everypony!" "Bye bye, Twilight!" Night Light said. "Bye, Twilight, I love you!" Moon Dancer said. "Bye! Bye!" The Friendship Express then pulled itself out of the train station, and it left Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle then turned on her IHoof as she placed two earbuds in her ears, and selected the song 'Try Everything' by the famous earth pony pop singer named Countess Coloratura. As the song played, the Friendship Express made it's way to Manehatten as Twilight Sparkle took in all the sights. Moments later, the Friendship Express then arrived at Manehatten, and pulled up to the train station. Twilight Sparkle then took her bag she brought with her, and exited the train. She happily looked around to see ponies going about their own buisness as the song ended. She then looked up at Countess Coloratura who was on the billboard, and said "I'm Countess Coloratura. Welcome to Manehatten."
