We walked out to Charlie's car and he opened the door for me and I got in.

"So," I said when we were driving to the restaurant.

"So." he said.

Damn. This is awkward, I've only talked to him once in my life and now I'm on a date with him. I'm really starting to regret this whole date thing.

"You really look gorgeous you know," he said. I smiled.

"Thank you" I said, "you don't look so bad yourself."

He laughed. "Thanks, but if you wouldn't mind me asking, why don't you dress like that to school?" he said.

I thought a moment, then finally came up with, "If I start dressing like this now, people will think I want attention and that I'm trying to hard, and trust me, I really don't want that." I told him.

"Oh, well you definitely got my attention." he said.

We pulled up at a restaurant called 'Finch & Co.' We got out and walked to the door, once we were inside we walked up to the waiter. "Reservations for Charlie Rowe." Charlie said. The waiter grabbed two menu's and showed us our table we sat down, and looked at the menu. I scanned it and sense I'm a vegetarian I decided on a salad.

"Can I ask you something?" Charlie said.

"Of course, what is it?" I said.

He didn't look at me. "Why does everyone think your crazy?"

I froze. What was I supposed to say? Should I tell him the truth or only the partial truth? "Well," I began, "it started a long time ago, I told my selfish mother that I would see the same people everywhere I went. That even when no one was around I would see them there, I could be all alone in my room and I would see these certain people there. Their voice would always be in my head, and I just felt like I could never get them to leave me. I would even dream about them, so my mother, who is a total bitch, decided to turn my private story into a way she could get attention, so she started telling everyone that I was crazy, and she told people how hard it was for her, a single mother living with a crazy child. Or even having a crazy child.  So rumors went around at school and I became the crazy kid, and lost all my friends, and just everything. I felt like the crazy kid too, I lost everything. So now I go to therapy twice a week to see my psychologist." I told him, that felt extremely good to get that off my chest.

"Oh my. Wow, your moms Angie Nicolson right?'' he asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Annie?" Charlie said.

"Yes?"

"I don't think your crazy."

I smiled at him. "Thanks."

We ordered our food and ate it, and after 5 minutes of fighting over who got the check Charlie won, then we left. We walked through a park which was only a block away from where we ate, and we started walking.

It all of a sudden started raining. We both laughed and ducked under a tree not wanting to get wet, we were used to it though, it always rained in London, where we lived.

"You know what we should do?" I said to Charlie as we watched the rain under the tree.

"What?" he asked.
