"It's been a while, Dante." Said Pineapple. "Yes, yes it has." Pineapple took a spoonful of soup and ate it. "And you son. Who are you." Asked Dante. "I-I'm Andrew." "His ship attacked mine when I was on my way here." Said Pineapple. "Attacked?" Dante stood and drew an iron blade from his belt. "No, no. It's okay. He's not one of them." Dante sat down and returned the sword under his belt. "Dante! Dante, come out here." Said Annie."A minute, gentlemen." Dante then walked outside to see what was going on. Pineapple and Andrew continued eating their soup. They had washed up and they got new clothes. Pineapple had his wound patched up also. Andrew looked up from his bowl of soup. He glanced around the room and looked at Pineapple, who was examining his cut. "Uh, what is this place."Asked Andrew.

"This is my home." Pineapple got up and walked to the window and Andrew followed. He pointed to the structures on top of the island. Pineapple looked at them confused. They seemed to be destroyed and there were no lights on. The large church seemed to have it's windows and bell tower smashed. Pineapple gulped and looked at Andrew. "Lex. We have some questions to ask you." Said Dante entering the building. "Hmmm. No one's called me that name in a while." Said Pineapple. "What do people call then?" Asked Dante. "Pineapple. I never reveal much about myself."said Lex. "Interesting choice. Right this way." Dante motioned to a wooden door leading to a small room.

"Well, I'd say you haven't changed much from the meeting we've had. Very well. I will take you and Andrew to the mainland." Said Dante. "Thank you, Dante." Said Lex. They walked out into the early morning weather. It was still dark. "We can take your ship, Lex." They boarded the ship and Pineapple swiftly guided the ship to the mainland and the sun rose. Dante looked at the mainland. He pointed to the old dock. There were merchant ships and a few warships docked. Lex pulled the ship into the dock. He steadily stopped it and they walked onto the wooden dock. Dante lead them to a set of stairs carved into the side of the mountain. There was an undead lurking on part of the mountain and Dante swiftly killed it with his sword. "Let's continue boys, on with it." Dante lead them up the increasingly steep steps. They made it to the top of the steps.

Lex's jaw dropped as he looked at the desolate town that was once his home. It's buildings were in ruin and wrapped in moss and overgrown with plants. "What's happened to Sevolto Zito, Dante?" Asked Lex, fearing the worst. "Oh yes, it happened after you left..." they all creeped along the destroyed town. One building was left standing. It was known to the people as "The Sliver of Light." People would come from all around to be healed at this building. It was sacred and was actually called the Sevolto Palace. The town was filled with bones. Lex looked around with a sorrowful face. He had left the town after his parents had gone. He was twelve years old and left his friends, Vop and Dante. Dante knew that he was leaving and helped him leave. Lex walked through some ruins and dirt to reach a house at the cliff's edge. It was partially destroyed. Lex hadn't said a single word yet. He walked into his old house.

When he walked in, he remembered his past life. He could see he and Dante playing in the now destroyed garden. He could see his father working in the high council hall as his mother would get him from school. He saw his mother working alongside the other blacksmiths to make weapons for the militia. It was all gone though. Lex turned around. "Dante, tell me. Who has done this?" Lex knew this was a human's work with the outlandish weapons and tools spread across the ground. "Lex, it happened so long ag-" Lex stopped him. "What. Happened."asked Lex insistently. "Okay, I'll tell you."

They took seats in Lex's old house as Dante explained what had happened. "After you left... a group told us we had three days before they would attack us. It was out of nowhere. We thought we could defend ourselves from them. My father and mother fought valiantly. So did Vop's. They lived. My parents did too but my dad's arms were cut off and my mother was paralyzed for a few years. She's fine now but she's not the same. They live in a small community in the valley now. Lots of people died but the survivors moved back into the forest more. We have walls now and better security. The high council is still around but Vince died. He was our leader, Andrew. So that's what happened." "I see." Lex looked around the house. "It's not your parents' faults. I know after they left, our town's structure and militia was in shambles. Don't blame yourself. Let's go. I will show you the new city and introduce you to my wife." They all marched out of the house.

They walked out into the overgrown cliff side city. Early morning winds howled. Dante looked at the sky. The air was wet and misty. A low fog sprawled across the ground. "Hmmm. A storm is coming. Onward." Said Dante. He lead them to the edge of a dark forest with trees reaching high. They walked along the dirt trail and Dante explained how the woods keep them safe from creatures and attackers. In the distance, Lex could see a high wooden wall. There was a large wooden gate and two figures on top. The fog was low enough so that he could see the top of the wall. They continued forward. They stopped about ten feet in front of the massive gate. "Mike, the gates please." Said Dante. "Who are these people?" Asked Mike furiously. He loaded a bolt into a slick wooden crossbow. He aimed it sharply. "Anderson, weapon up." Called Mike. Anderson aimed his weapon as well. "Calm down! Open the damn gate." Called Dante again. Lex looked at Mike. "What are you looking at?" Said Mike before shooting a bolt at Lex's feet. Lex was angry he launched himself forward with his ax in hand. Dante stopped him. "Calm down, Lex." Andrew looked ready to fight too. He was vicious looking for a Ten year old. "What he hell's going on?"called a voice from behind the wall.

"It's time to open the gate. These are good people." Said Dante. Mike sheepishly jumped down and opened the creaky old gate. Lex knelt down and grabbed the bolt out of the ground. They all walked into the town after the small scuffle.

The town was beautiful and the roads    were paved with brick. In the center sat a shopping center surrounding a large well. There were lots of trees in the town too. In the very back was a huge mansion with a few guards standing by it. Lex asked the name of the new town. "The name is Citadel and we have moved away from our older language a good bit." Said Dante. Pineapple nodded his head. "Where will Andrew and I stay?" Asked Lex. "You can stay in a vacant condo or you can stay in the Inn. Which one would you prefer?" Lex looked to Andrew. "Up to you, kid." He said. "How about the Inn." He said. "The Inn it is."

Dante lead them through the street and the sun was up at this point and it was about eight now. The town's people were coming out of their houses to tend to their shops and the market. They passed a blacksmith and it reminded him of his childhood while he watched his mom make tools for the people of the town. "Dante! Dante!" Yelled a man. They all turned to see a group of soldiers lead by Mike. "What now, Mike?" Asked Dante. "Those two need to leave. Do you know who that little shit is, Dante?" He pointed to Lex. "Me?" Asked Lex. "Yeah, you! You're parents caused the destruction of our old town. Your jackass father ruined the council with his ties with the Black Flag." Said Mike raising his crossbow. "My father? How do you know that name. I've heard of the Black Flag and my father wasn't a part of them." Said Lex. "Time to go, prick!" Said Mike. Lex punched Mike and a bloody tooth flew out of his mouth. Mike was knocked to the ground and he leapt up and grabbed Lex, taking him to the ground. Andrew walked over and stabbed Mike in the back with a knife. Mike screamed. The other guards picked up Andrew and he was kicking and yelling for help. Dante performed a takedown on a guard and Lex joined in. They fetched Andrew from the guards. Mike was on the ground bleeding and the rest of the guards were defeated.

Dante snapped his fingers at an officer and told him to arrest the guards who attached Lex and Andrew. The guard hesitated but decided to put them in jail. Dante helped carry the knocked out guards to the jail and then he showed them the rest of the way to the inn.

They had made it to the inn. There was a sign shaped like a moose head reading "The Hearth's Light Inn." Lex yawned. He was happy to finally be getting some sleep and he was a bit sluggish. They opened the grand doors and entered the inn. The smell of baking bread filled their noses. They went to the font desk and got rooms in the inn. Dante told them to get some sleep and left them in their rooms. Lex was more tired than he had ever been. He just fell on top of the old wooden bed and went right to sleep.
