Kendall glared at Allen. He hated the way he just acted like he was cool with everything. It pissed him off. "What business does he have here?" he thought as he kept his glare.
Kendall tried to cautiously glance at Cameron. But he did not need to be careful, not at all. She was too focused on the person who just entered. She might not have known but her eyes were shining and her cheeks were red. She looked so beautiful, being shy and all. But as much as he liked it, he also hated it, because he wanted that expression of hers to be directed to him.
"Good morning, Ma'am. I am Allen Bautista. Sorry I'm late. I had a terrible headache earlier, but I decided to come to class anyway." As Allen said this, Kendall was sure that Cameron was thrilled to know that Allen would be in their class. Or maybe she already knew? But why didn't she tell him?
"It's alright. We were just about to finish the introduction. You can sit wherever you please. There is a seat at the back. You can take that." the teacher said.
Cameron blushed even more. This time, Kendall did not feel jealousy. What would that get him? He was instead overwhelmed with wanting. Wanting for her to look at him. Wanting for her to ignore Allen. Wanting for her to blush over him. But that was just his fantasy.
Cameron looked away when Allen turned his head to look at her. He wondered why she seemed so angry yet her boyfriend was there. Did they have a fight? Or perhaps she was just embarrassed?
"Thank you for the offer Ma'am. But could I sit somewhere else?" Allen asked.
What was with him? How big was their argument that he would even refuse to sit beside Cameron? It could not be her fault, Kendall knew that she was the pacifist type of girl. So could it be Allen's? Is that why she was avoiding him? Because she knew that he would beat the guy to a pulp when he found out he hurt her?
"It's just that it is too close to the window. I'm anaemic. Cameron knows that, don't you?" he directed the question at her.
It took a while but she said, "It's true, he had been anaemic all his life." she said sarcastically. And Kendall knew it. There was something going on between them. And Cameron did not want him to know about it.
"Is that so," the teacher continued, "then where do you prefer?"
He looked at Kendall, nodded towards his direction and said, "His place."
So Allen wanted him to get the fuck off? No way would Kendall give his seat to him. His pride would be shattered, being tossed by him like that. But moreover, he had another problem with that arrangement. If he would exchange seats, he would be sitting next to Cameron. And she wanted to 'temporarily' cut ties with him. How could he do that when the person he wanted to talk to the most will be sitting next to him?
"Well then, I would arrange that," the teacher looked at Kendall and said, "You, the one who was flirting with me earlier," the class laughed at that. But he did not smile. It was funny, considering how extinct Jurassic teachers like her were, but he was not in the mood. "Sit next to her so that he would be able to avoid the windows."
Kendall did not look at Cameron, but instead, gave the teacher a fake smile saying, "Aw, c'mon Ma'am! I like you too much to be away from you." He tried to sound casual but the falsetto tone gave him away. At least, only to Cameron. But he was not grateful for that.
"If you really like me, you would do as I say. And I say get your butt out of there."
"I thought I liked you but now you are fucking pissing me off!" he shouted to himself. Kendall looked at Cameron, wanting to ask her what he should do. She was not a person who wanted to argue with the teacher. He was one, but he did not really want to protest that much. She shrugged and looked away instead.
