The apocalypse of the year 2106 changed everything. Extreme climate change caused many parts of the world to become uninhabitable; cities were completely submerged and most of the world's natural habitat had been destroyed including many animal species. The Arctic disappeared, together with its inhabitants. The ice caps had all melted, and the oceans were high enough to engulf entire cities, even countries. Droughts caused deserts, and superstorms and massive wildfires made many parts of the world impossible to live in. The air was hazy, diseases spread, and food supplies were destroyed. Starvation was inevitable. The results were mass deaths, famines, social collapses, and mass migration. From all this, a war derived, for all resources were scarce and man was willing to start a war because of it. This time it was a nuclear one. This Third Word War caused even more destruction, and eventually, the earth's population was reduced by more than two-thirds. However, three cities survived. London, Washington D.C and Hong Kong endured and were now protected against the unbearable living conditions that ruled the world, by enormous force fields. The president of the United States, Pervicale Kane, didn't allow people in or out Washington D.C. without permission. People outside the cities did usually not survive long without the protection of the domes. These people were only small in number, and strolled around continents, searching for food and water. The people in the cities, however, were divided into two groups: the ones with power and money, and the poor. The poor struggled to survive, while the rich bathed in luxury while they still could. Food was scarce, and water was almost always polluted. Enforcement was carried out by newly developed highly intelligent robots called the ATAIS, the Advanced Technology Artificial Intelligence Singularity, which controlled the slums of Washington D.C, London, and Hong Kong. 18 years later, in 2124, the world was still in peril. However, it had slightly recovered and rebuilt itself, and a huge discovery was made; the ability to travel through time was no longer a myth. As a result, the world tried to rewrite history by travelling back in time and evading the apocalypse. Nevertheless, climate change still predominated, no matter how hard the human race tried to undo the horrific events it had allowed to happen in the past. History endured. What followed was more anxiety among the poor and many uprisings occurred, but they have all been repulsed by the ATAIS This one was no different.
