CHAPTER 1:

Security Breach!

HMS DAMOCLES: November 19th 2013: 5:30 PM

General Arcane was nervous as he walked to the command deck of his command ship, "The Damocles", the nerve center of S.L.E.E.T itself.

It had been a trying year so far.

First he had one of his TechNet labs broken into a destroyed in an explosion because of F.E.I.N.D interference, then came the Terrorist attacks in Technogopolis and Lunar city respectively, then the theft of the HMS Demeter and her cargo, and just to add icing on the cake he had found out that his old friend Marcus Master's was alive.

As glad as he was to know this, even this revelation came with strings attached.

Marcus's M-Gene/M-Radiation experiments had let the "Genetic mutation" genie out of the bottle, now on top fat cat politicians questioning the use or need of his organization, and F.E.I.N.D Terrorist plots, he had to deal with super powered people running around.

The worst of the worst so far were called the Dark Elite, led by a powerful Metahuman known as Meta-Master and as further insult to injury, Meta-Master was his long time war buddy Vincent Masters, Marcus's father.

Turned into the kind of evil he hadn't seen in a long time, a "Metahuman Hitler" for lack of a better term.

According to Marcus, who now called himself "M-Leader", Vincent wasn't responsible for his actions, the transformation had left him deranged.

But Marcus, or M-Leader, Whatever....he had seen the coming danger from the fallout of his experiment and had gone around the country and assembled a group of affected teenagers and with great reluctance, formed them into a paramilitary group known as "The Heroes Legion".

So far, Marcus's unit had done a good job and they had earned Arcane's trust....all except one.

A while back, on the day after Halloween he had been contacted personally by M-Leader.

He had told them that they had just managed to make it through a psychic attack done by some new Metahuman calling himself "Morpheus", it didn't take long for Arcane to roll his eyes in response to hearing that, these villains always seemed to find SOME kind of name to call themselves.

Apparently he was a serial killer with the ability to enter people's minds to mess with their dreams and create all too real nightmares to torture them with for fun before ending their lives...he'd have hatted to know what would have happened if news of what this guy could do had gone public.

They were keeping the whole "Metahuman" thing "Hush,Hush" until they had a solid grip on the situation, the last thing they needed was to reveal this to the public at large without a solid deterrent against the really bad ones.

Like the ones they had locked up in Ryker's Islands "Special" wing right now.

When he had asked M-Leader on the status of Morpheus's capture, he was told that he was no longer going to be a problem.
