"Then It Was Over"

Renee's POV

I coughed as the smoke entered my lungs. I crawled my way out of the flaming truck. I saw 3 other bodies with me and I dragged them out.  "Max come on babe wake up." I said shaking him. "Max babe please wake up. You're safe we're safe just wake up." I said shaking him harder. "No come on baby I need you. Wake up!" I screamed tears streaming down my cheeks. I punched his chest and he started to cough. Well that works too. "Max it's me we're gonna be fine." I said as he just nodded his head. I crawled over to the girls. "Come on my babies it's momma we're all gonna be fine." I cooed to them checking for a heartbeat. Both faint but there. I dragged my body until I was lying on my back. "What have I done with my life?"

Lincoln's POV

"Come on you at least missed me?" I said to Evelin circling the chair she was tied to. She spat to side. "Fuck off I don't need, miss or want you!" She said almost growling. "I wouldn't do that I'd hate to kill my grandchild." I said spinning the barrel of my gun between my fingers. She looked confused as she kept her focus on the wall. "I do hope Renee told y.." "Don't say my daughters name it doesn't deserve to be disrespected by you." She snapped. "Anyway I hope she told you she was carrying some fuckers baby." I said and knelt in front of her. She swung her foot up just hitting my jaw. "Now that right there was free cause I deserved that but the others won't be." I said standing up holding my jaw. "You see Austin and I we're very good business buddies. He wants our daughter I want you it's so simple." I said pulling up a chair. "Now I will admit it was his idea to cut out Renee's baby and place it in another host and I told him he could kill the baby. Come on I wanted a grandkid." I said plopping down. "You just so happen to be the best host so similar to Renee in DNA but yet so different at the same time." My hand held her check as she tried to swat it away. "But since I'm feeling generous and now YOU'RE carrying Renee's baby I'll give you a choice." I said standing up as she looked down at her stomach. I grabbed her chin forcing her to look at me. "You can willingly become mine or I can kill you and our unborn grandchild." I squatted down in front of her. "Do you have a choice yet we don't have much time." I said my smirk growing. "You know what you remind me of? The joker. You could never stop until you had you're puddin. But unlike the joker he never died." She said looking to the side. "I really don't care about analysts just say your answer." I groaned. Women. "I have an answer..." "Freedom/death or staying with me forever?" I asked getting in her face. She turned to look at me. " I choose something I should of done a long time ago. I choose freedom." She seethed. "Well I guess our grandkid means nothing to you." I said about to stand up. "Sit your sorry ass down I'm done." She hissed. "Ok go ahead." I said getting back in her face. "I might choose freedom but you chose death." Then her forehead came into contact with mine sending me backwards. She stood up like nothing was even holding her and from the ground you could she the cuts in the rope. She pulled out my gun from my coat pocket. "I guess it's fair since Austin's dead so you should be too. Because your such good business partners!" She screamed shooting my chest. I could almost feel the bullet pierce my heart slowly. My fondest memories played before my eyes like a movie at the end of your life. I saw Renee grow up in a flash. How I got and lost Evelin the very first time. Everything hit me at once. "I'm so sorry." I choked out. She still stood over me. "I can't say the same." She said and I heard the gun shot and I went numb. My vision faded away. My heart began to fail and my mine seemed to slip away. Than I felt the only emotion I had in a while lots of pain. Then it was over.
