Lantern's Light (Roy Harper - Red Arrow) [Young Justice]

Independence Day (Part One)

(Just picture Hal and Rory with them -Rory is Hal's sidekick, not John's- standing next to Roy, and him with his arm over her shoulder - also before I started this I knew  I wanted to write a YJ fic with a "sidekick" of the lanterns, I had a name picked before I decided on Roy, and didn't realize till a few minutes ago that their names (well her nickname and his name) are almost the same.  Oops, oh well I like it!)

Over time, Rory gained complete control over the power of her ring and perfected her fighting.  After spending a year with nobody but all the lantern's Hal decided that it was finally time for her to get to know the Justice League and the other sidekicks.  They were all already familiar with who she was, but nobody other than Hal and John had met her yet.  So the entire league crowded in the Hall of Justice alongside the other sidekicks, Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Speedy.  Rory quickly fit in with the rest of them, and she and the other sidekicks got along great.  She instantly became great friends with the four of them, but none of them connected as well as her and Roy.

Five Years Later Coast City

Icicle Sr. was terrorizing Coast City.  "Of all the days that he could have done this, he couldn't have done it on a different day?"  Emerald Lantern (Rory/Aurora) groaned as she made a fist construct send Icicle sailing into a cement wall.  Hal looked at Rory with a grin.  "Evil never sleeps, Em."  He calls out to her as she makes a lasso and ties up Icicle until the authorities handcuff him.  (A/N: I'm to lazy to write out a whole battle right now, maybe I will add it in later on buttttttt idk  its like 1AM) "Yeah well good does, and good can't wait to get out of here.  Now come on lets go!"  Emerald Lantern was practically shaking with excitement.  Well, either that or the five cups of coffee that John decided to give her this morning.  "Chill out kid.  You excited?"  Hal asked his daughter.  "You kidding Hal?  Of course I'm excited!  Today is the day!"  Emerald Lantern quickly flew up into the air (with help from her ring of course) with Hal following and they made their way to the Hall of Justice.  Yes, today was the day.

Hal and Rory landed a little ways away from the Hall of Justice where the other Hero's and former sidekicks were.  Well, all except for Flash and KF.  I walked up to three out of my four great friends and gave them each a hug.  "Today is the day."  Batman placed a hand on Robin's shoulder.  "Welcome to the Hall of Justice."  Green Arrow started.  "Headquarters of the Justice League."  Aquaman finished.   "Aww man!"  Everyone turned around to see the two speedsters stop right behind them.  "I knew we'd be the last ones here!"  KF crossed his arms while Flash raised an eyebrow at him.

As we all made our way inside the hall the bystanders were going crazy.  "Is that Batman?"  One man asked.  "I see Flash and Flash Junior!"  Some random lady exclaimed.  KF started to look a little pissed.  "His name's Speedy, duh."  At this Speedy (Roy not KF) started to clench his fists.  Emerald noticed this and took her best friends hand.  Speedy looked at her gratefully and a light blush went across his cheeks, luckily for him his best friend didn't see it.  "No Speedy's Green Arrow's sidekick."  We all kept walking, and I tried to keep Roy calm.  "Well that makes no sense."  Speedy smirked as he saw an excited boy take a picture.

GA and GL leaned up between the two best friends.  "Ready to see the inner sanctum?"  Arrow asked us.  Speedy and Emerald looked at each other and smiled.  "Born that way."  We both replied at the same time.  "I'm glad we're all here."  Aqualad commented as he looked at all of us.  "Have all five sidekicks ever been at the same place at the same time?"  KF asked.  Emerald nudged his ribs with her elbow.  "Yeah, when you met me."  She smirked.  "Don't call us sidekicks.  Not after today."  Roy snapped.  Wally looked dejected.  "Sorry, first time at the Hall.  I'm a little overwhelmed."
