Chapter two: the claiming

Emily and Summer had just met Percy and Annabeth when they got attacked by a monster.

Holy crap, Emily thought, when a monster attacked. It was a huge beast with a head of a bull and a body of a man.

"Ummmm.. What ever that is, im pretty sure its confused as to what it is." Summer said out of the corner of her mouth. Her eyes were as big as sausers as she looked at it.

At first it didnt see them, but it seemed as it had very good smell. It turned its face towards them and went

Rawwar! Which Emily was pretty sure ment, Im going to eat you all! Emily and Summers first reaction was to hide behind percy.

"Hey Mr. Minho! Long time no see!," Percy said, like he was greeting an old friend as he pulled out a pen from his pocket," Sorry, not sorry but youre going to be back in tartarus in about three minutes." He said waving his pen around.

How in the flying foodoodles is he gonna kill it with a pen?! Emily thought.

"On three?" annabeth said. Clearly they have done it before.

"On three. One-" Percy said

"Two-"

"Three!" Percy and annabeth said together. Percy uncapped his pen and it turned into a bronze sword. Annabeth took out a dagger. They charged the monster, while Emily and Summer decided the safefest spot was behind the bench.

Summer was looking on her watch, timing to see if they were going to destroy it in three minutes. Meanwhile, Emily was staring in awe at how well the two were fighting together and watching percy slash with his sword and annabeth stab with her dagger. When percy made the final slash the monster erupted in a explosion of gold glitter

"Two minutes and thirty-one seconds! Wow!" she said

"Really summer? Thats the first thing you say? After all that!" Emily said. Emily had been feeling weird ever sonce that monster came. Like a tingling in her fingertips. She hadnt looked because of all the action in front of her. But when she looked, she gasped. The others looked at her and gasped to. At her finger tips, looked like there was electricity coming out of them. Her hair blew around her, but there was no wind. It was as if she was makin her own. She was lifted up a few inches off the ground. Percy and Annabeth looked at each other, not beliving what was happening. Summer jusy looked like she was going to faint. A gold lightning bolt appeared over her head.

"Shes been claimed," Percy said,"Emily, daughter of Zeus." percy and annabeth kneeled slightly. Summer just sat down, her head in her hands.

"I dont understand!" Emily wailed, clearly scared out of her mind," and what did he say about Zeus?!"
