Chapter ten: into the city

Emily couldnt sleep. She was thinking about summer and percy. They aparently had left camp and they still hadnt showed up. Emily checked her phone if she had missed any calls or texts.

Earlier she tried calling her summer but jason stopped her. Aparently if demigods use a cellphone, its like sending a red flag for monsters, like, hey! Im over here! She had asked why she saw other campers taking calls and jason said leo had made a chip so monsters couldnt detect them. Emilys sighed dreamly, and thought, gods i have the best boyfriend.

After she got the chip in her phone, she started to text and call summer. She had texted summer 17 times and she still hadnt answered. She got out of bed and put on leos jacket, since she figured itd be cold outside. She opened the cabin door and stopped there. She turned back and put on her braclet.

She messed with the locket around her neck and went outside. It was eleven o'clock at night, so the cleaning harpies werent out. She walked to the hades cabin and knocked on the door.

Two minutes later someone opened the door. And it wasnt summer.

"Hazel? Have you seen summer? She hasnt been answering my calls." emily said. Hazel slighty tilted her head to the side.

"Well of course she didnt answer, shes to far away to hear you." hazel said. Emily shook her head.

"Sorry hazel, i meant phone call. I forgot that your not from here." emily said, apologetically. Hazel died in the nineteen-forties and was brought back to life when gaea started to wake up.

"Oh its okay. Do you know where she mightve went?" hazel asked. Emily shook her head.

"If anything, theyd be in manhattan, i mean, thats where summers mom lives. Well sorry for bothering you. Good night."

"Good night you too." hazel said. Then she closed the door. Emily shrugged and walked back to her cabin.

When she got back to her cabin, she saw someone that she didnt expect to be there.

"Leo? What are you doing?" she said, walking up to the door of her cabin.

"Oh emily! Yeah percy just texted me that him and summer are at the apartment building where you and summer live."

"Oh thats great! Im going to grab some stuff before i go." she said walking into cabin one, with leo at hers heels.

"Where are you going at this time?" leo asked. Emily got a duffel bag out and was outting some of her clothes in it.

"Well, duh, to go get summer and percy." she said as if it was obvious. Leo rolled his eyes.

"No your not. Youre a child of zeus, monsters are smell you from miles away." he said, moving his hands around. Emily finished packing and zipped up her duffel bag.

"You cant stop me. Its not like im going on a quest, im just going to help my friends and stay in my moms apartment." she said putting the strap over her shoulder.

"Why would you stay at your moms and not come back to camp?" he asked as emily walked past him. Emily stopped walking and looked at him.
