I'm salty and I felt like posting this because I felt like this was very important. This is my opinion so I'm telling you now, if you got a problem with me calling out problems in kpop dealing with racial things, then just don't read this or go on to something else.
I'm not gonna sugar coat this at all, and I'm not targeting anyone so please don't wonder if I'm talking about you or not. I have a MAJOR problem with this whole blackface thing in kpop. Like for real, wtf is so cool or funny about airbrushing or photoshopping your favorite idol to look black? Firstly, as a young African American female myself, I take this in offense because it's wrong to do stuff like that in the first place. Just because you slap on some dark ass makeup or perm your straight ass hair so it looks Afro-like, does not make you black. I'm tired of this bullshit - being black doesn't mean you eat fried chicken or listen to rap music, no not all of us are like that. STOP LISTENING TO THE GOD DAMN MEDIA. Blackface is offensive, and even if you're not trying to do any harm, still it's offensive because you're showcasing it as "spray some brown paint on an idol and now their black."
I believe every god damn culture is beautiful, and I would never do anything to disrespect anyone's culture, but some kpop idols are saying that they are "black" or doing things that they believe is "black", and nobody is confronting their ass for it. I'm not saying that and idol can't perm their hair- no I'm not saying that. That's their hair, and I'm pretty sure they would like bomb af and slay all my god damn edges off, but you can't go around saying you're black because your hair is permed.
Those idols who try to be "black" by saying they listen to rap music and eat burgers and fried chicken so they can be "black" are just confused and they are going to confuse you too. I know these idols don't mean no harm, and probably don't know any better because they are not used to everyday black people. All they see is Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj, but they've never seen good inspiration and down to earth like Lupita Ngo and Taraji P. Henson and Erykah Badu. Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé are beautiful women- I'm not knocking them down, but for real I bet most of you have never heard of the women I named out.
You guys can comment all the rude or controversial comments you want to, but this is just my opinion because I'm offended by it, because people act like having dark skin is like a sin. I know that sometimes mean if you have darker skin that you are poor, and the whiter your skin is means you're pure and all wealthy. But come on, kpop idols all don't look right being white washed. There is nothing wrong with an Asian man with tan skin. That shit is fucking hot rather than him being white washed.
But all in all, the blackface in kpop needs to chill because that's not funny at all. If you're gonna make an edit that seems offensive or trivial, you need to keep that to yourself because you never know what you put on the internet may do to other people. Some people are really sensitive about their skin and that just adds onto their insecurities. Everyone should be comfortable in their own skin, and if you disagree with my thoughts then oh well because this is my rant and I'm just blowing off steam. So eat my ass, fuck a maid, praise a chicken and stay safe and love each other. 🙃❤️
