Adrien woke up the next morning and put the blanket back. He walked downstairs and found Sabine and Tom cooking breakfast, the news on. "And in today's news, Chat Noir is still on the run. No one has seen the cat masked boy but the real question is, is he still a hero? More on the story at noon." Nadja stated and Adrien shivered.
"How could people think so lowly of him," Adrien turned and looked at Tom. "He was only doing his job. The Akuma was in her heart, what else was he suppose to do."
"H-he could've found another way but couldn't." Adrien spoke out and Tom sighed.
"It was the only way. Even if I was in that situation I would still have no choice," Tom said. "And even if that was still my daughter."
"Adrien, do you have a suit at home we could go get for you?" Sabine asked.
"I wasn't going to go to her funeral," Adrien shakily sighed. "People hate me enough already."
"Its all she could ever ask for if you go to her funeral," Sabine sadly smiled and Adrien looked at them. They were both clearly saddened by their only daughters death. "I can go get your suit for you."
"N-no I can get it. I'll meet you there." Adrien stood up and walked to the door.
"Well okay. You remember when, and where?" Adrien nodded and left the house. He walked home and looked at the time, one hour until the funeral. He got to his room, finding Gabriel standing there.
"F-Father," Gabriel turned to him. "W-why're you in my room?"
Gabriel walked up to him and hugged him, making Adrien gasp. He let go of the hug and walked to the door. "Her funeral is in an hour, get ready." He closed the door and Adrien blinked before sighing and getting dressed. He did his tie and looked at himself in the mirror, he looked tired. He didn't sleep that night either, only an hour or so and even then did he only see Marinettes face as she died in his arms.
He combed his fingers through his hair before slipping on his dress shoes and walking to the car. When the car pulled up he got out and it parked in its spot. He walked into the cemetery and found the group of people around Marinettes grave. It was in a big open field and hers was the only one in it. He walked up to the group and sat in the chairs, Gabriel not with him. He sat in the back with his hoodie under his dress coat. He didn't want to be seen. Sabine saw him and sat stood next to him. "Adrien, we have you near the front."
"N-no thank you. I'd prefer it back here."
"And Marinette would prefer you up front," Adrien sighed and followed her up to the front row. H sat next to her as the ceromony began. Everyone gave their final thought to her, but Adrien. "Adrien, why don't you talk to her? One last time."
Adrien shakily nodded and stood up and walked to the open casket. He said his goodbye to Marinette, trying to make it meaningful to him and her. "M-Marinette, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't have been there for you more and I'm sorry I didn't know sooner," He shakily said. Everyone was glaring at him. No one wanted him here. "I love you." He whispered and sat back down, feeling eyes on him. At the end only the closest people to her could put a flower on her casket. There were a hundred red roses already on there. Alya and Nino added one, so did Sabine and Tom and the class. Adrien looked at the rose in his hand. The casket went down and on top he threw a green, red and black rose that were fake, so their love would never die.
At the end everyone went to Ladybugs ceremony. Adrien went in the car and sighed. No one liked him anymore and he even hated himself. The car rolled up to the Eiffel Tower and he got out and sat in the back again. He waited a few minutes before getting up and walked around. He saw no point and in seeing a sculpture of his Lady just so he could see her face and feel worse. He walked around the corner and walked into an alley. He sighed as Plagg came out of his pocket. "Plagg, Claws Out." Adrien sighed as he changed into Chat Noir.
He jumped up onto the Eiffel Tower, no one seeing him and sat on a beam close to the ceremony. "Today, we're mourning the lost of our beloved superhero Ladybug," Andre started. "She protected the city from evil, such as her murderer." Chat sighed.
"Chat Noir didn't murder my daughter!" Sabine stood up and yelled. "He was doing his job! If there was another way he would have gone down that road!"
"His power is to destroy, that's why he is a threat. But we are not here to talk about him, we are here to talk about the beloved savior of Paris, Ladybug," Andre went on about all that Ladybugs done. When he got something wrong Chat scoffed. "Does anyone have something to say about Ladybug."
Chat smirked and jumped down to him. Everyone gasped as he stood on the pedestal. "I have something to say."
"Guards!" Andre yelled.
"Ladybug was my partner and best friend. She was always there for me and Paris and did what was right. All of you think I killed her, but I didn't. I saved her from herself. She was protecting everyone, then it was my time to protect her. I loved her. Do you really think I would kill someone I loved?" His eyes filled with tears. "No, no I wouldn't. I still love her and will always love her." The guards surrounded him and he jumped up into the Eiffel Tower and sprinted away.
He got home and detransformed before walking into the house. He walked into his room and took his suit off and sat on the edge of his bed. He held his head in his hands and cried. He missed Ladybug and Marinette and both of them. he loved them and missed them.
