--35mins later--
All students were now on the Hogwarts Express, waving goodbye to their parents. Draco went into a compartment with his new friends, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle and that girl he met on the platform named Pansy Parkinson.
I went to all the compartments, peering in, but all of them were full. I finally spotted one boy sitting alone and opened the door to ask him a question.
-Hello! The boy turned his head to look at me and smiled.
-Hi!
-Do you mind if I sit down here, everywhere else is full? I stated.Harry's POV:
A girl approached me asking if she could it with me. I said yes, of course. She then thanked me and happily sat in front me. She told me her name was Melissa.
-That's a nice name, I thought, talking to her for a little while and laughing at her great sense of humour. But suddenly the door was flung open again and a red haired boy entered, asking the same thing as Melissa. We cheerfully accepted and the boy sat next to her. We talked for a while until for the third time, the compartment door opened. It was a bushy brunette haired girl with chocolate eyes and pale skin. She seemed a bit rude to the ginger boy who's name was Ron. She was just a tad arrogant too, thinking she was the best at magic out of all of us. Probably true, but still. She repaired my glasses and I was grateful but still a little unsure about her personality. After a couple of minutes in which she presented herself as Hermione Granger, she left.Your POV:
We finally arrived after about eight hours of travelling and got out to meet a rather large fellow named Hagrid. Harry explained to me that he was half giant which I found quite interesting. I boarded a boat with a girl named Lucy Riddle. She was very kind and we had a long conversation while sailing to the magnificent school of witchcraft and wizardry. Lucy was quite a pretty girl with extremely long, blond hair and magnificent dark eyes. She told me about everything she was exited to learn, as did I. As we approached the school we noticed how spectacular it was. It was so grand and wonderful, with it's shining lights and tall towers. When we arrived, we were presented to Professor McGonagall who explained all about the school and the year we would be spending there. Suddenly, the doors of The Great Hall opened and we stepped inside to be sorted into our houses. I was worried but still chatted to Lucy. I observed the enormous room, the enchanted sky, the huge tables, the floating candles and the coloured windows. I was so carried away I didn't even notice we had started being called and placed into our houses. When my name was called, I turned my head and looked at the stool, gulping. I sat down and waited for the Sorting Hat to start it's speech.
-Hm, Melissa Malfoy.
-How will I decide? Gryffindor...or perhaps Slytherin? I do not think the others would suit you, no no not at all.
I wished to be in Gryffindor but I wasn't too sure if that's what the hat would decide.
-Yes, I do believe the house more suited to you is... GRYFFIDOR! It suddenly yelled. I smiled and headed to the large table and watched as the others were put into their houses. Lucy was put into Slytherin, as was Draco. But I was happy, I was Harry, Ron and Hermione.
--Time Skip, Next Day--
-Goodness, when ARE they going to get here. I whispered to Hermione who was sitting next to me in Transfiguration.
-No idea. But they're are already at least twenty minutes late. Hermione sighed.
-Merlin, they really should have a map of Hogwarts you know, to find your way around. (Hehe, they do!) I exclaimed as the cat sitting on the desk fixed the doorway. Harry and Ron had come running through and were obviously greeted by a menacing looking Professor McGonagall. Hermione shook her head and we continued on with the lesson. The days went by rather swimmingly. Although we did find out about a huge three headed dog that nearly ate us alive. It was locked in a room which we stumbled upon while trying to escape Filch's cat. It was rather terrifying. Apart from that, we had fun, made lots of friends and learnt new things. But one afternoon, in Charms, a little into the year, Hermione let her know-it-all side take over her and Ron was quite upset when she corrected him. He then proceeded to make fun of her with his friends and Hermione ended up crying in the toilet...
On Halloween night, which was the night of the event of Hermione crying in the bathroom, something happened that washed panic over the entire school. Hermione had still not shown up for dinner when Professor Quirrel came sprinting into the Great Hall where we were eating. He was screaming like a mad man.
-TROLL IN THE DUNGEON! He shouted. I swear even his purple turban looked terrified.
-I thought you ought to know. He spoke quickly before fainting in the middle of the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables. There was a pause and everybody went crazy before Dumboldore ordered silence and for the Prefects to bring us back to our houses. Panicking, we all stuck by each other and walked up the moving staircases to the common rooms. Suddenly, I noticed Harry and Ron had disappeared and decided I couldn't just leave them on their own so I stayed behind to think where they could be.
-Parvati Patil said she wouldn't come out of the bathroom. She's been there all afternoon! I could hear Neville's voice echoing inside my head.
-That's it! Hermione! I sprinted down to the girls's bathroom and to my absolute horror, I saw Hermione berried underneath some broken cubicles with Harry and Ron standing there fighting a fully sized mountain troll and obviously failing.
-Do something! Harry yelled, being hung upside down by the huge green creature. Ron couldn't think so I bought him some time by hexing the troll. It didn't do much but it was enough for it to leave Harry alone and come for me instead. It picked me up as I screamed for my dear life.
-Help! Please Hermione help! I yelled kicking my feet and trying not to get clubbed in the face. My friend was too scared to crawl out from under the sink she was hiding under so she directed Ron to swish his wand and use the spell he had dreaded using up until now:
-Wingardium Laviosar! He cried and the troll's club floated up into the air and out of it's grip. It then fell on its head, knocking it out.
-Thank you so much! I flung my arms around Ron, then Harry and finally, Hermione.
-No problem! Ron grinned. From then on, we were all inseparable friends.--Time Skip a few days--
Harry wouldn't eat anything even with us insisting he should. He needed his strength for his first Quidditch match as youngest seeker in a century.
-Take a bit a' toast mate, go on. Ron told him.
-Ron's right Harry. Hermione pointed out.
-You're gonna need your strength today. I finished. Snape suddenly came behind us wished Harry good luck. Then, he walked off... Limping. It was rather odd.
-That explains the blood... Harry expected us to understand what he was talking about.
-Blood? Hermione asked.
-Listen, last night I'm guessing Snape let the troll in as a diversion so he could get passed that three headed dog. But, he got 'imself bitten. That's why he's limping. Harry explained.
-But who would go near that dog? I continued.
-The day I was at Gringotts, Hagrid took something out of one of the volts. He said it was Hogwarts business, very secret.
-So you're saying... Hermione paused.
-That's what the dog's guarding, that's what Snape wants. Harry seemed certain.
Suddenly, Hedwig, Harry's owl, flew down and dropped a parcel on the table. It ended out being a broomstick. The new Nimbus 2000! We were shocked yet happy, we knew Harry would be much quicker and better than the other team's seeker. We were practically sure to win the game.
