Save before you battle a MYTHICAL or LEGENDARY Pokemon!
A common mistake I see with Pokemon gamers, and then they accidentally beat it and can never get it. (Like Ho-Oh and Lugia from HG SS, or the Eon Pokemon from OR AS)
So, about this tip: If you are playing (I know definitely with Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, but maybe Black and White?) an earlier game (I only have played the DS games, so IDK for the Gameboy ones) the mythical Pokemon trio move around and you have to try and catch them in one turn per encounter. So... Save when you are on the route that they are on so you don't accidentally one-shot them.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
Again, this is only for the earlier (correct me if I'm wrong) 3rd generation games, so Sun/Moon players don't worry about this.
