She's been misunderstood,

Ever since childhood.

That one different day,

When it all seemed to change.

When the words became too much,

And she couldn't tell the voices to hush.

She tried faking a smile,

And it worked for a while.

Too the point where it morphed into the only one she knew,

And that was the only one she used as she grew.

And the whole way through her youth,

She considered telling the truth.

But she stopped the words from spilling out,

Because they wouldn't understand what any of its about.

They wouldn't understand her pain,

They wouldn't understand what's wrong with her brain.

Because honestly, she didn't know herself,

She just knows she can't say farewell.

What would she say, anyway?

Hey, im dying inside, have a nice day!

I drive myself crazy with the voices in my head,

These are two out of a thousand things that i never said.

She couldn't just sit down and tell them,

Cause she can't even start without talking about him.

She can't even sit and be warm by a fire,

Without her mind bringing up some kind of overwhelming desire.

She can't even stand and be out in the cold,

Without thinking of the things that she's never told.

The words that never found their way out of her mouth,

Have left her tongue dry in a horrid drouth.

He found his way into her dreams,

He's still an illusion but thats not what it seems.

Playing that song that she loved so dearly,

Even after all this time she can still hear it clearly.

Her eyes becoming heavy and she knows she hasn't slept,

She stayed up all night so she just sat there and wept.

She knows he's somewhere else kissing lips that aren't hers.

She finds it hard to cope as the days go by in a blur.

She knew he would move on too soon,

Yet to this day she still thinks of him late at night in a dark cold room.

She was a daisy in a field of roses,

She was never good enough,
thats what she supposes.

She lies in her room the thought of him still haunting her brain,

She thinks of him the most when the world is flooded with rain.

Tugging on his large black sweatshirt that she finds herself wearing,

She thought she was over him, her heart desperately needs repairing.

But he's the only one with the tools to fix her heart,

But how can he fix it when they're a thousand miles apart?
