3.night

Viktor turned to look at Clara.

How does she not know? He thought.

He stared at her eyes.

How does she not know?

As Viktor and Clara walked out of the Superdome after destroying the remaining Daraxi once and for all, Clara could feel Viktor's stare burning a hole in her.

Clara turned to face him, her long black hair whipping in the chilling wind.

"May I help you?" She snapped.

Viktor looked hurt by her sudden outburst.

Clara could have sworn she heard him whisper something.

She turned back around and started to search for the portal that brought her here so she could continue her life in London. Most portals gave off a scent of burning wood, so she followed her nose to a back alley behind a club on Bourbon Street. She chuckled as she saw a drunk couple make their way through the street in only t-shirts and shorts, even though it couldn't have been more than 30 degrees outside.

She was about to step through the portal when she thought otherwise.

I really hate portal travel. She mused.

So she decided to head to the airport.

She turned to glance at Viktor, peering into his sad eyes.

She smiled.

"Want to go on a field trip?" She grinned at Viktor, seeing a grin appear on his face.

Clara didn't know why she trusted him so much, but she was tired of being alone.

"Where to?" He asked, the grin still there.

"London!"

He nodded his agreement as they headed to the airport.

The blaring alarm was heard throughout the airport as the metal detector shouted its protest.

Clara groaned as she stepped inside the small room, the officer lecturing her about how all metal items were to be put in the small baskets sent through the x-ray.

Oh yeah, She thought. I'm just going to put my nine inch blade through an x-ray so I can be known as a worldwide terrorist. Great idea!

She prayed that the officer wouldn't find the dagger hidden in her boot.

After an extremely awkward pat down and a few rude remarks from Clara, the officer apologized for the inconvenience and let her go, not finding the blade.

Clara made her way to Viktor, who was standing by the terminal and laughing as he saw Clara walking back, the frown on her face evident.

She glared at Viktor as they walked onto the plane and found their seats.

Viktor jumped as Clara shouted.

"I get window seat!"

Viktor laughed as Clara ran to their seats and flopped into the one next to the window, looking like a dying fish in the process.

He sat down next to her and began to read a magazine from the seat pocket as they took off, while Clara fell asleep.

After a couple of hours, Viktor felt his eyes burning as Clara started to scream, a bloodcurdling scream that was heard throughout the plane, causing some of the passengers to shiver and stare at the young woman.

Viktor heard a voice.

Eyes as bright as day

Heart as black as night

One angel sleeps

The other angel fights

She will start the war

The war to end it all

Let Hell envelope you

Let Heaven take the fall

Sleep tight child of God

Let your screams fill the room

You shall lead all Heaven

To its impending doom

Viktor gasped as the pain was released and Clara's screams continued.

"Valentin."

With that said, Viktor passed out, his head hitting his seat as Clara's screams came to a stop.
