It was darker than usual. 10k and Warren were keeping watch that night. They sat on top of the black truck to watch the dark fields for any sign of Z's. 10k looked down at the tail gate bed to look at Kat. She slept peacefully with her black hair in her face.
He liked her. He wanted to keep her safe no matter what. Kat knows this, and she toys with his heart way to much. Breaking his heart here and there, then blaming 10k that he should have done this, or he should have done that.
"10k." Warren says nudging the slender yet strong boy. He looked over at her with his blue eyes. "How much longer are you gonna let her toy with your heart boy?" She asked. 10k looked down and pulled his sniper closer to him. "I'm sure she won't do it again. Shes just not ready to set-"
"She's not gonna stop you know." Warren cut 10k off.
10k looked up at her. Warren did a half grin while looking at 10k. "Son I know Kat. She's been doing this back at our previous camp. She thinks that since its the apocalypse that she can do what she wants." She explains. 10k looked to the sky for a moment. There were many stars out and he loved to look at them. He looked back at Warren. "I thought she was finally the one." He says quietly. Warren shook her head.
"Tell you what, the next camp we go up to, if she still dose what she dose, find a girl you like and talk to her. I'll let her come with us." She says before looking back out to the field. 10k took in what Warren said. He smiled and shook his head before looking back out to the fields as well.
