Tord's PoV
I opened my eyes. I felt... Warm. I feeling I hadn't felt since the early evening of Thursday.
I became more aware of where I was. I was still outside, but I wasn't on the porch where I'd fallen asleep. I was about to stand when I realized something had a grip on me.
I looked down, and there were two arms wrapped from the back to the front of me. It was Tom. I was in his lap, too. We were curled up beside the steps. I sank back into his grip, and it was quite relaxing. I yawned, but when I licked my lips, I realized something different. I ran my tongue across my mouth again, and all I couldn't tell myself that I didn't taste the faint taste of vodka.
He... He kissed me... Tom, kissed me... I couldn't believe it. I turned as much as I could to look at him, and when I saw his eyes open, I jumped.
"You're awake..." I started.
"Yeah. You woke me," Tom chuckled.
"S-Sorry," I stuttered. My face got red, and I didn't know why. I wouldn't usually be concerned to wake him up. In fact, it'd be a good day if I were to start him off miserable.
"Don't worry about it," Tom reassured me.
"Tom," I said right away. We looked each other in the eyes, without looking away. "You kissed me." His face got red.
Tom's PoV
"H-How'd.. How did you kn-know...?" I sputtered. My face was burning up; I hadn't planned on him figuring that out.
"My lips taste like Smirnoff's," Tord chuckled.
"I... I'm sorry, I don't know what got into m-"
"Calm down," Tord stopped me. "It was a really long night last night... I didn't think either of us were gonna make it."
"Yeah..." I agreed. "You aren't mad though, are you?"
"No..." He answered. "I... I'll pay you to act like this never happened."
"Wha-"
It was so soft. So... Sweet. And it was over before I knew it. Tord pulled his lips away from mine. He unwrapped my arms from his torso, and he stood. Tord put out a hand for me, and he helped me stand up. We walked up the steps together, and knocked on the door.
"Tord? Tom?" Matt looked at us in disbelief. "Where have you two been!!!" He almost dropped his coffee mug.
"We've been locked out here since last night," Tord laughed.
"The car battery died, and I don't think either of us had dinner last night," I added with a smile.
"EDD!! THEY WERE LOCKED OUTSIDE!!!" Matt called for Edd.
No PoV
Edd walked out from the kitchen. "They were?" Matt nodded. Tord and Tom stepped inside.
"It was a long night," Tord said.
"Uh, guys?" Edd started. Tord and Tom looked at him. "The back door was probably open. Tom, you know how we forget to lock it all the time! You both could've came in through the kitchen!" Tord and Tom stared at Edd in the most disbelief they'd had all night and morning.
"So you mean..." Tord trailed off. "I COULD'VE BEEN SPARED FROM THE BRUISES?!"
"Oh, you think you had it bad?! I COULD'VE GOTTEN IN AND GOTTEN THE ALCOHOL BOTTLES OFF SOONER! BUT I WAS FORCED TO PUT UP WITH YOU AND YOUR INSULTS!!" Tom shot back.
"Alcohol?" Matt questioned.
"Bruises?" Edd followed up.
"What did you get yourselves into out there?" Matt asked.
Tom and Tord looked at each other, then back at Edd and Matt.
"Uh..-"
"Just... Bonding," Tord told them.
"Yeah... That sounds about right," Tom agreed. Edd and Matt gave each other uneasy looks. Matt shrugged, and Edd sighed.
"Well, I'll glad you two were able to open up with each other," Edd said cheerfully.
"Yeah! Even if you're still fighting a little bit... It's great to see you kind of getting along!" Matt added. Tord and Tom exchanged a glance.
"Yeah," Tord smiled. He took Tom's hand and walked into the kitchen with him.
"Holding hands...?" Edd eyed them, oddly.
"I guess we'll have to see what comes..." Matt suggested. Edd nodded.
"Yeah... Something definitely changed overnight."
