CHRISTMAS MORNING (CHARLOTTE'S POV):

I balanced the tiny green box at the top of my stack and took a cautious step down the stairs leading down to the second floor. Oh god, I hope I don't drop these. No one wants to be waken up at 6:30 in the morning because they hear a crash.

"Need help?" Niall asked. I peered around the stack of wrapped presents to see my brother, his hair sticking out in all directions.

A/N: you guys were expecting a carrot joke about how you can only go in one direction, weren't you?

"Yeah, can you take the top half?" I asked, struggling to keep the presents in my arms. The load got noticeably lighter as the top half disappeared into Niall's arms.

"So, which one's mine?" He asked, smiling.

"Wait until mum and dad are up, Niall!" I scolded, and he rolled his eyes.

"That long, huh? I'll be waiting for hours." He complained, as we stepped down into the hallway.

"We can play games while we wait." I said. We passed all the empty rooms the rest of the boys had once occupied. The only rooms with people in them were my parents' bedroom and Harry's old room, where Greg, Denise and Theo were staying. The boys left last night and Denise and Theo got here late last night while I was sleeping. I still haven't seen my little nephew.

"I put on the kettle, if you want tea or hot chocolate while we wait." Niall told me, as we went down the second set of stairs and into the living room, where the tree was. We put everything down and piled the presents under the tree.

"So you've already set up your presents?" I asked, noticing the other boxes under the tree with tags saying, "From Niall".

"Yep. Tea or Hot chocolate?"

"Hot chocolate." I answered, following him into the kitchen. I leaned up against the counter and stared out the window as little snow flurries coated the ground white. Niall took the kettle off the burner, and set it on a cool burner. I grabbed a packet of hot cocoa mix from the cupboard and a mug, filling it with the chocolate powder, and ran to the fridge to get the whipped cream and milk.

"Care to do the honors?" I asked Niall, handing him the bottle of whipped cream after we had added the water and milk and mixed it in. He nodded, taking it from me and shaking it. He took off the top and put a generous amount of topping on my drink, and I grinned. I grabbed another mug and mix packet, making another mug of hot chocolate for Niall while he filled his mouth with whipped cream from the can. Weirdo.

"Hit me." I said, opening my mouth, and he sprayed a bit of whipped cream from the can into my mouth. "Thanks."

"Care to do the honors?" He quoted, handing me the can. I nodded, taking it and putting the whipped cream on his mug.

We took our mugs into the living room and sat down on the couch, talking and waiting for everyone to wake up. We talked about everything- music, old memories, past Christmases, food, pretty much anything we could think of. At eight twenty, however, we were cut off by the sound of a baby crying.

"How long have you two been awake?" Mum asked, walking down the stairs and yawning.

"I've been up since six thirty, but Niall's been up since six." I said, and Niall nodded.

Dad came down and then Denise, without the baby.

"Where's Theo?" I asked, after we hugged, said hello, and said merry Christmas. C'mon, I'm not that rude.

"He's right here." Greg said, coming down the stairs, with a BABY IN HIS ARMS OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.

I'M AN AUNTIE. AUNTIE CHAR, IT SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL ALREADY.

"Hi Theo, it's Auntie Char." I cooed, running over to Greg. He's ADORABLE.

*Time Pass* (sorry it's so boring trying to write out the events of Christmas morning because it's seriously just 'I opened up a present, I got ___.')

"So, how are you enjoying your new guitar?" I asked, stepping down into the basement.

"I'm enjoying it a hell lot more than you seem to be liking your school books." Niall teased.

"I get them every year, because I can't just magically drop out of school like you did. I have to get an education, no matter how much I hate it." I explained. "You like your guitar? I thought it was a nice gift from mum."

"Well, your gifts were nice, too." He argued, strumming a few strings. "A charm bracelet you've been adding onto since I left, a homemade blanket, a pair of sunglasses and beanie. Those are pretty good gifts. Now, c'mon and sit next to me, little Horan. I want to play Mario Kart."

I grinned and ran over to the couch, flopping down next to Niall.

"Oh, and nice shirt." He smirked, pointing to my Crazy Mofo shirt.

"Oh, thanks! You know, my idiot of a brother got it for me for Christmas. I'm not sure if I like the color..." I frowned, looking down at my white shirt Niall got me. He nudged me with his elbow and put down his guitar, and grabbed a wii remote. He handed me one, as well.

"I'm going to win, moron." I scoffed, as he turned on the console. He shook his head no.

"Nah, I think I'm going to win."

"Nuh-uh!"

"Yeah-huh!"

"Nuh-uh!"

"Five pounds if I win?" Niall asked.

"You got a deal." I smirked. Sucker, I play this all the time in my room. I've had years of practice.

Because of this, I wasn't surprised when Niall dropped his controller into his lap in shock.

"You beat me?" He asked weakly. "There's no way I got beat by a girl."

"Give me my five pounds." I held out my hand.

"How'd you cheat?" he asked.

"I want my money." I frowned. He made a grab for my remote and I tugged it back, hugging it to my chest. "What was that for?"

"You might have put something on the controller that rigged the game. Gimme!"

"I'm a fourteen year old girl that spends her free time keeping herself occupied in a tiny house. I'm pretty sure I couldn't find a way to rig the game." I explained, raising an eyebrow at Niall. "Now, you owe me five pounds. Fork it over."

"Never!" He jumped up, running up the stairs. I chased him through the living room and the kitchen.

"Give me my money!" I demanded, and he cut a corner to go back into the living room.

"You'll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers!" He announced, and flew up the stairs. I raced after him, and he locked himself in his room. We were making so much noise, good thing everyone's outside. Why aren't we outside?

Oh right. I'm a secret, shhhh!
