Do you have any idea on how much I dislike ballet? Any? I hate it! With a passion. I like to dance but this is torture. It hurts and there are so many rules! Street and contemporary are fine because there are no rules for the actual dancing. With ballet it's so strict! I know people can create amazing performances with ballet but I was born with the grace of an elephant of something. Plus, Miss Carlile hates me. I mean really hates me. Me and Gracie don't exactly get along and she's the star of our class. Miss loves her. I'm here rambling on to myself and she's up at the front holding the bar doing pliès or something. She's got that smug face on that she has when she dances. Like a little kid who wants a toy really bad. She doesn't want a toy, she just wants to make everyone else in here feel crap! I am honestly so tempted to slap her right now.
"Okay class brilliant. Now Gracie, Chloe and Katrina I would like you three to maybe lead some of the younger ones and maybe some who are struggling in this particular section." Miss Carlile said. Gracie looked at me as soon as she said that last part with a smug face on. That's it I'm going to kill her. Michelle rushed over to me.
"Hey! Don't even think about going up to her okay? She isn't worth it."
"I know it's just, oh, just look at her!" I said, frustrated. Michelle sighed and smiled at me. I laughed then too.
"I need to pick up this junk and get to the theatre for acting." I said, gesturing at my ballet gear. Michelle laughed and went to pack up her stuff. After I had finished and was just about to leave, miss called me over.
"Ah Liana! Gracie has inquired that you don't seem to be understanding this part of the routine, hm?"
"I, uhh, well, I think I'm doing ok..." I stuttered.
"Yes dear you're doing brilliantly but I was thinking maybe some extra classes and perhaps Gracie and the older ones could help you during breaks etc."
"Maybe miss." I smiled. Gracie was looking at me like she was about to burst out laughing. I turned and head out the door. Ha. Poor little Gracie seemed to have forgotten that she is in my acting class and none of her stupid mates are either. Plus I'm captain of our group so I can make if living hell for her. See, mish would probably take a better approach and be nice to the rat. I however, take a different approach.
We were in the theatre and rehearsing for the 'mini musical'. It's a show that happens every year. It's only small, maybe half an hour at the most? We were doing a play that we wrote ourselves. I say we but I mean the creative writing department. I had just finished my section with Jack and was getting a drink. My eyes scanned over the board with all the portfolios on. It was something all the actors here did. I found one in particular:
LIANA SHANLEY
16
HOBBIES INCLUDE DANCE, SINGING AND ACTING
My portfolio.
"Hey Lili. Long time no see sweetheart." His ugly, stinking breath tickled the hairs on my neck. It made me cringe.
"I am not your sweetheart Kyle!" I spat. He was disgusting. I hated him for what he did last year but since I got my confidence back he seems to show an interest in me now.
"Aww come on baby you know that we're good for each other! You the head of the drama thing and all." He said. His words were suffocating me he was that close.
"We, are never, ever, EVER going to be together. Now leave me alone!" I stated, slamming my drink on the table. I turned and walked out of the the theatre and down the hall. Big mistake.
