Two Months Later

“Kaila Taylor,” The nurse calls

“That's us,” Malcolm says standing up

I roll my eyes and I get up

“Excuse me sir but your clearly not Kaila Taylor”

“He's my boyfriend,” I answer

“Oh okay then follow me,” The nurse says

We follow the nurse down the hall into a examination room “The ultrasound technician will be shortly”

“Okay thank you”

She smiles as she leaves us alone into the room.

“Are you okay?” I ask

Mac shakes his head “Yeah I'm fine why?”

“You pacing back and forth”

“I'm just nervous”

“All we'll doing is finding out the sex of the baby”

“I know but I'm still nervous”

“Try to relax”

He sits next to me “I love you Kai”

“I love you too Mac”

A few minutes later the ultrasound technician walks in “Hello I'm Sarah”

“Nice to meet you I'm Kaila and this my boyfriend, Malcolm”

“Your chart says your about three months pregnant is that correct?”

“Yes”

“And that we'll be finding out the sex of your baby correct?”

“Yes”

She smiles “Okay let's get this party started”

I lift my shirt up awaiting the cold gel like the previous times I've been to the doctor

Sarah puts on a pair of gloves and spreads the the gel on my stomach then uses the wand

“You see that?” The ultrasound technician asks

“Yeah it's a blob,” I say

“Well that blob is your baby girl,” She says

Malcolm squeezes my hand “That's our daughter Kai”

“Yes it is,” I say feeling the tears in my eyes

“Congratulations on the baby girl”

“Thank you”

“If you weren't already pregnant you are now”

“You're stupid”

He shifts so his head is next to my small bump “You hear that baby girl your mom is calling me names”

“Am not”

Malcolm whispers something against my stomach “But its okay because I love her,” He finishes

“Are you talking smack about me to our child?”

He makes a face “Of course not, but I am telling our child how b –”

“Watch your mouth McCormick”

“I was going to say beautiful you are,” He smirks

“Sure you were”

He kisses my stomach “I was”
