I ring the doorbell
Malcolm open the door “Hey come on in”
“Thank you...sorry I'm late”
“Nah it's good I knew you were be”
I smile “I guess somethings never change right?”
“Right” He nods “You look good”
“Thanks so do you,” I say
“That's a lie but thanks”
“Malcolm,” I turn around to face him to see he's has smirk on his face “What?”
He shakes his head “I forgot how much I like the sound of my name coming out of your mouth”
I roll my eyes “So what's for dinner?”
“Pasta”
“Mmm my favorite”
“So how's Ashlyn?”
“She's good how are the guys?”
“Good they miss you”
“I miss those idiots too”
“Do you miss this idiot?” He asks
“Please don't so this”
He nods his head “So how's your boyfriend?”
“He's fine”
“What's his name?”
“Damon, do you want know his social security number too?”
“Yeah what it is?”
“I didn't come here to talk about him”
“Okay let's go eat,” Mac says leading into the very familiar kitchen at the table are two plates and two glasses full of wine.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?” I joke
He laughs “Like I need to get you drunk to get with you,” He mumbles
“What was that?”
“Nothing”
“Anyway I'm driving so I can't drink”
“C'mon Kaila one glass of wine never killed anyone”
“Okay but only one glass”
Mac and I sit at table eating and talking
*-*-*-*
“I've got a confession to make,” Mac says
“Oh God what it is?”
“I bought you an engagement”
“What? When?”
“Remember when were in Nashville and Q and I left after the sound check?”
“Yeah”
“Well that's what we're doing”
I shake my head “Wow”
“I've still got if you want see it”
“No”
“Are you sure? It's really nice”
“I'm sure it is but I can't see it..actually I wish you didn't tell me about it”
“Well I thought it was something you should know”
“Thanks for dinner I think I should go”
“Please don't go Kaila”
“I really should go”
He grabs my hand “Kaila don't leave me again”
“We both know I had to leave or else things would have only gotten worse”
“Were both in better places now we can make it work”
“We're both changed I can't do us again,” I pull away from him
“So you don't love me anymore?”
“That's the problem I love you too much it hurt so much to lose you once I can't do it again”
“It will work out this time..I love you Kaila”
I caress his face “I know but it will never be the same”
He sighs “One last kiss for old time stake?”
I wrap my arms around his neck and press my lips against his
Mac puts one of his hands on my hip and the other caresses my face
Our kiss is slowly and passionate I feel I his tongue glide across my bottom lips beginning for entrance I give it him he smiles into the kiss.
I pull away from “Let's go to the bedroom”
*-*-*-*
“Where are you going?” He asks yawning
“Malcolm just because we had sex last night doesn't mean we're getting back together
He frowns “How can you say that when we had the best sex we've ever had”
“I'm sorry Malcolm,” I say putting my dress back on
He sighs “I love you Kaila”
“I know you do,” I grab my shoes
“I hope your boyfriend realize what he has”
“Me too”
“So this is goodbye...again”
I nod my head “Yeah”
He gets out of the bed completely naked “Can I at least get a hug this time?”
“After you put on some boxers”
He laughs “Come on he won't bite”
“At least cover him with the blanket”
“Fine,” Mac grabs the sheet wrapping himself “Come over here and give me some love”
I walk over to him wrapping my arms around him
“I love you”
“I love you too” I say.
The End.
