It was Saturday morning, I was supposed to be heading over to Bella's around 11:45, it was 8 o'clock now, I figured it would be a good time to start getting ready.
Once I was dressed and ready to go, I walked downstairs, grabbed my car keys, and walked out the front door.
-Skip the drive-
I walked up the stairs to the front porch of Bella's house, and knocked on the door. The door opened revealing a man that stood at about 6 feet tall, a good 6 inches taller then me in heels, looking to be about 42.
"Hi, can I help you?" He asked in an awkward tone, I guess we know where Bella gets it from now,
"Hi, I'm Ellery Cullen, I'm here to see Bella she invited me over today." I said with a bright smile, hoping to impress my new friends father. He smiled at me,
"It's nice to meet you Ellery, I'm Charlie, Bella's dad. You can come on in, I'll get Bella." He said while opening the door wider for me to come in, walking into the house I was greeted by warmth, I could smell the scent of gun powder, and beer, from Charlie no doubt, probably getting ready for the baseball game that was coming on later in the day, I could smell Bella from upstairs, talking on the phone with her mother, it felt like a home in there house, it was warm and comforting, much like my own, I felt welcomed with open arms. Charlie cleared his throat "Bella is on the phone with her mom, she said she'll be down soon." He said while walking down the stairs. I smiled at him, "okay, no problem." I said, we kind of stood there awkwardly for a few seconds until he asked if I wanted anything to drink, I replied with just a water, he then proceeded to lead me into the kitchen, and get me a glass of ice water. We sat at their kitchen table and I decided to make conversation,
"So are you going to watch the game tonight?" I asked already knowing the answer, but I couldn't stand another moment of silence,
" Yeah, I'm actually having my friend and his son over later, to watch. Do you like baseball?" He asked sounding genuinely surprised that a teenage girl, asked about sports.
"Yeah, my brother's Jasper, Emmett, Edward and I watch the games together usually, but Em and Jas are going to have to watch it alone this time, since I'm here and Edwards out of town." I said with a smile. Charlie looked at me curiously,
"Where's you'r brother? If you don't mind me asking." He asked curious to know why only one of us are out of town.
"He's visiting our cousins in Alaska, he was missing them, I would have gone to but I had this big history test I couldn't miss." I said creating a little lie on the spot. Charlie nodded in understanding, I could hear the sound of Bella saying goodbye to her mother, opening her bedroom door, and walking down the stairs. She turned into the kitchen looking between her father and I,
"Ellery! Sorry I was on the phone with my mom.." she said in her usual quiet tone.
"It's okay, your dad and I were talking about the game tonight." I said showing off my white teeth.
"Really? Okay, well you can come up to my room if you want." She said. I nodded my head while standing from my chair, and grabbing my bag, as we walk out of the kitchen, I smile and wave to Charlie.
"Talk to you later Mr. Swan!" I said.
"Ellery you can call me Charlie." He said with a chuckle.
Bella and I continued up the stairs and into her bedroom where we spent the rest of the day.
