Ellery's POV~
We pulled into the school parking lot and pulled into the spot next to Emmett's monstrous jeep. As I get out of the car I hear the roar of Bella's truck from down the street. Edward and I walk over to the rest of my family. We stand there talking to each other, Edwards arm was draped around my shoulder, when I felt his fingers dig into my arm, I wince a little bit, knowing there will be bruises later. I look up at his face about to ask what's wrong only to see him looking across the lot at the pale girl I now called my friend. I nudge his side,
" So are you going to talk to her? Or are you going to stand their like a fucking statue?" I question him, he rolls his eyes and begins to walk into the school, dragging me along with him.
"You know I can't Ellery. I can't take the risk of loosing control."
I sigh nodding my head.
"Look Edward, I see where you're coming from but you can't just ignore the problem until it goes away."
"I refuse to bring an innocent girl into this life only to damn her soul like my own. I refuse to make her a monster Ellery!" I let out a sigh, I see where he's coming from, I wouldn't want Paul involved in this world if he weren't already involved.
"I get that, I do. But Ed you have to understand that not all monsters do monstrous things..." with that said I leave him pondering my words of wisdom, and head to history with Jasper.~Time Skip to Lunch~
I go to my locker after class and throw my books in, grabbing what I'll need for the rest of the day.
"Hey Ellery." I hear a timid voice from behind me, I look over my shoulder while slamming my locker. Behind me I see the pale human I consider to be one of my best friends.
"Hey Bells!" I say with a smile "Whats up?" She looks at me as we start walking to the cafeteria,
"So your brother's back..." she trails off, I nod and release a laugh
"Yeah what about him?" I question.
"Do you think he'll talk to me?" She asks, I could hear the hope and curiosity in her voice. I release a sigh before replying.
"Edwards predictable in his unpredictability, so I have no clue." She seemed disappointed, that I couldn't give her an answer, but she nodded as we walking through the doors of the cafeteria. She says goodbye, and walks over to her table. I head the direction of my table and plop down into the chair between Edward and Emmett. Alice looks like she's about to explode from excitement. I look at her in curiosity.
"Alice... why do you look like you're going to explode?" I question out of curiosity. Her smile grows as she lets out a little squeal,
"Ugh! I can't take it! Edward told us not to ask to many questions but I have to ask you!! How did it go!?" She rambles on, while I'm still trying to wrap my head around what the hell shes talking about.
"How did what go...?" I question out of curiosity. She rolls her eyes in exasperation,
"How did it go with Paul last night!?" I release a laugh.
"That's all? It went really really well. What do you want to know?" I ask the table know that everyone has questions. Alice is the first floodgate to open.
"What does it feel like when you're with him?" I think back to last night and how comfortable I was with him.
"I feel like I'm floating on air, like I can fly when he's around, it feels like nothing can touch me..." I say with a small smile.
"How do you deal with the smell?" Rose asks with her nose scrunched up. I let out a laugh and shake my head.
"I don't smell what you smell, it's like asking you how you can stand the smell of Emmett." I reply as Emmett pouts playfully and Rose nods her head.
"When can we meet him?" Alice asks.
"When he's ready to meet you." I reply the questioning continued on through the rest of lunch.
After the bell rings I walk to art class. Today we're painting, the first thing that comes to mind, and the first thing that can to mind was a wolf. I dipped my paint brush into the paint and begin. My mind flooded with thoughts of Paul and when he would be ready to meet my family, if he'll ever be ready. I ponder on those thoughts for the rest of class and before I know it the bell rings and I'm looking at my painting. The teacher stops by my chair and looks at my painting.
"Ms. Cullen.... this is wonderful." He states, "Why did you choose to paint this?" He questioned me. I look to the canvas and then at him,
"I'm not sure, you said paint the first thing to come to my mind, and this was the outcome." I said unsure of where this conversation was going.
"Have you considered going to art school?" He asked me. I look back at the wolf and then back to Mr.Edwards.
"Yes, I'm not sure if I would get in or not." I said trailing off knowing college would never be an option for me. He sighs and places a hand on my shoulder.
"You would do wonderfully, your the best student I've had in my career of teaching." I give him a slight smile and say thank you.
"Well you get another A, so you can take that home if you'd like."
I nod my head, stand up, and collect my things.
(Time skip)When the final bell rand I walk to the cars to meet my family painting in hand, everyone smiles slightly at it, admiring my 'talent' as Edward says. I was putting the canvas and my bag in the back of the car when I hear the screeching of tires, against the asphalt, and turn to see Edward is gone.
