There is a quality that we strive for,
by none may it be attained.
Some get closer than others.
Is it a necessary strain?
We want to all be golden,
the one that shines the brightest.
Life is not for love,
it's for he that gets the highest.
In the existence meant for peace,
we've warped the nature of our selves.
Drawn blood from our enemies -
the main ingredient for our spells
Losing sight of the goal:
just to do our best.
Instead we like to think,
"How can I beat the rest?"
And so what was the quality?
The trait that was in question,
The one that leads to doom.
Why it could only be perfection.
