I Am What I Am

Chapter 6

I wake up to the sound of the shower turning on. I get dressed and put my bag in the car, my dad is already packing it "morning son" he says with a very strong Australian accent
"Morning dad" I reply happily.
My mom walks out the door and locks it behind her
"You better go pick up that girlfriend of yours" she says  smiling teasingly

"Mom..!"

Dad laughs

"Your mother's right son its ten pass seven. Aren't you supposed to pick her up at seven thirty"

But before he could finish his sentence I was off jogging at a steady pace I text Jenn and tell her I'm coming when I get there she opens the door and says with a sigh

"My parents changed their mind about letting me go"

"What!"

"Just kidding!!" she walks out with her backpack and camping gear she wore a bright pink and yellow jacket with red hiking boots almost like mine.

"You scared me you know"

"Yeah I know"

"Did you tell your parents about me?"

"Yeah in fact they said that I should go for it! They are all about meeting up with you"

"Really?"

"Yeah"

"Ok guess our parents have something in common"

We arrive and you would not believe the shocked look on my mom's face I was actually quite hurt it was like she couldn't believe that I have a beautiful person as my soul mate

"Oh my god you are so beautiful"
She says hugging Jenn

"why thank you Mrs James"

"Oh please drop the formalities honey we are all family here"

I smash my forehead into the palm of my hand

And mom whisper to me

"is this who you're gonna marry?, Cause I approve already"

" I hope mom I hope "

I say out loud

Three hours and  a hundred miles later we reached the campsite a nice secluded area with no one else besides us I was glad about that. My dad put up the tents and set up the barbecue stand. After I changed into my swimming shorts and Jenn into a short pants and shirt we walked to a near by stream just past the trees near the clearing of the campsite. I stood at the edge of the stream.

"Would be a shame if I fell in"

" Yes a real shame" she says

"So why don't you test it!" I say pushing her in

"John!!!!" She squels

I chuckle as she surfaces from the water

"you little rat"

she says giggling and she throws water all over me soaking me completely blinding me, and ofcourse she pulls me in we have a water fight before a wave! 

Where the heck did that come from!

Hits us and brings us together we laugh as we touch foreheads and she gives me a peck on the lips I return with on hers. After a long refreshing swim we change back into dry clothes. Only two minutes later did we realize that the water was clear man we were shocked!. We could see fishes and moss under the clear stream we admired the fish's beautiful colours.

Three hours later we were having dinner a delicious Australian barbecue my dad is great at cooking fish. I was so tired I think Jenn was as well. We slept after dinner my parents stayed awake a while longer and went to sleep as well I woke up in the middle of the night because of a dream I look to my side and Jenn is sleeping facing me I moved some hair out of her face, and walked quietly out the tent.

I walk into the forest and I come up to a water fall I walk to the end and look down. It was a short one very close to the water below it. I almost fall but lean back and fall on something hard snd yellow I get up and look behind me. It was that bench! "What the heck is this doing here" I ask to myself
"I was just gonna ask you that" says an angelic voice behind me. I look around and see Jenn walking up to me.

"How did you find me?"

"Well you weren't in the tent so I got up to look for you I went to the stream and saw you up here so I came up." She says with a beautiful smile

"Whats wrong?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well you have to have a reason to wake up.... so whats wrong?"

"I had a dream"

"Of ?"

"Us getting married"

"So was it a bad or good dream"

"It was the best dream I ever had" I say smiling at her as she sits down. She puts her head on my shoulder and we look at the moon and its reflection on stream.

"Its beautiful" She says in a soft quiet voice

"Yes... you are"

"Awww thanks honey"
She pecks me on the cheek

"So where did this bench come from? "

"I have no idea"

Jenn looks at me wide eyed

"So was it here when you came?"

I shake my head

"So it appeared after you leaned back?"

"Let me explain"

I tell Jenn everything from the other night and she looks at me like I'm telling her a fairy tale

"Whoa so this is a magic chair?"

"Yeah I guess its only for us"

"Wow we are so lucky"

"So how was our wedding like"

"Huh?"

"In your dream remember?"

"Oh right, um it was perfect a wedding cake and a patio filled with roses of different colours it was so nice and pretty!"

"Wow must have been some wedding" she says with a playful laugh

"Well it was our wedding what do you expect" I say chuckling.

"Um maybe a bouquet of  flowers feast of your delicious omelets"

"Oh so they did taste nice?"

"Yes they did"

She says softly with a small  innocent smile. Well at least I got her to smile. I look at the beautiful moon light in front of us and drink in the sight of the Angelic being sitting next to me.
