What Could Possibly Go Wrong

What could go wrong? Everything. In a few short weeks, everything had gone horribly wrong. He shouldn't have done it, but what had he thought? "What could possibly go wrong?" What an idiot he had been.

2 Weeks Earlier

It was 1:00 A.M. and two boys were hanging outside the gates to the haunted estate. "You should totally go in there and take a souvenir," said Gary.

"Why don't you do it?" said Brandon

"Because it was my idea," said Gary, "You chicken?" Gary then started to walk around like a chicken.

"I am not a chicken," said Brandon as he started scaling the gate. Brandon then heard a loud noise and fell off the gate skinning an elbow.

"You totally are!" said Gary, then he started laughing very loudly.

"Shut up," said Brandon," People will hear." Gary then made the effort to stop laughing and got the hiccups.

"That was hilarious," said Gary,"Now hurry up and do it before we get caught."

Brandon hurried up and scaled the gate before he fell off again. He dropped to the other side and landed awkwardly, making him go sprawling.

"Ow," Said Brandon," That really hurt." Brandon scampered into the house before he started thinking about what he was doing. As Brandon went into the estate he noticed that a noticeable wailing was sounding all around very quietly.

"This is spooky," Said Brandon. He quickly searched through the large front room and saw a big dresser. He ran to it, his footsteps echoing through the house. Once he got to the dresser Brandon opened the drawers to find that they were all empty except for one that contained a small marble and a note. The note read:

Beware you who is reading this. If you take the marble your home shall be cursed if in the vicinity of it. I read the exact same note before you and payed the price. I have, in my death, become doomed to haunt my house for the rest of eternity.

Brandon disregarded the note and grabbed the marble and stashed it in his pocket. "What could possibly go wrong with such a small marble?" Thought Brandon. He ran out of the estate with the marble in his pocket and went home.

If only he hadn't grabbed the marble.
