Alexandra's POV
Today is the first of Hogwarts and I'm very very nervous. I've never been to the school before so I don't know where any of my classes are. What if I'm late? What if I can't find a class at all? That would be bad. But I'm sure there are third years that I can follow to get to my class. The problem is I don't want to make friends because I don't want to be bullied again. At least now it's not like I'm a freak. Everyone here can do magic but I'm sure no one, except Harry Potter of course, can do special magic. As an infant, he had enough power to defeat the Voldemort. That's power.
"Sweetheart, you ready to cross the barrier?" My father asked. In the letter I got it gave me instructions on how to cross and was informed that my parents would not be able to cross as they were muggles. Sad but I couldn't do anything about it.
"I guess." I said.
"Come one, Sweetie, this could be a great experience for you. New people new classes." My mom said.
"No friends." I reminded her.
"I know sweetie." My dad said. Time to put on a brace face.
"Here I go." I said as I started to run to the barrier.
"Write us to night!" My dad called.
"Be safe!" My mom cried after me.
"We love you!" They both chorused.
"Love you too!" I yelled before disappearing behind the barrier with my stuff.
I was sitting in an empty car, third from the end. I got one of my books out and started to read. I looked up from my book when I heard footsteps coming. Right in front of me was none other then Harry Potter. He had a few friends with him as well, one being Hermione. "Oh, I'm sorry. Is this your car?" I asked him. While everyone knew his name, we didn't learn who he was. For all I knew he could use his powers to strike fear, but he was destined to defeat Voldemort. Maybe he was only going to defeat him because he wanted to rule the wizarding world.
"We tend to sit here." I heard red head say.
"Ronald." Hermione snapped.
"We'd like to sit here if there are extra spots." Harry said.
"There are." I replied kindly.
"Thank you." Hermione said. "I didn't know you were coming here. This is Ron and that's Harry." She said pointing at each of them in turn. I waited a sec for Harry to say exactly who he was but that never came.
"Hi, I'm Alexandra." I said.
"I've never seen you before." Ron said.
"That's because I'm a transfer student from Ilvermorny." I explained.
"Okay." Harry said almost like he wasn't sure what else to say.
"What house do you want to be in?" Hermione asked.
"Um any house would be okay. I'm not sure which one. They all have good qualities." I explained.
"Not Slytherin." Ron grumbled.
"No one is truly bad. Everyone has the ability to be good or bad and sometimes those who choose bad have just never been shown the way to good." I reminded them.
"Wow. That's deep." Hermione said. "So what house do you think you'll get into?" She asked.
"Hufflepuff probably." Ron said.
"Gryffindor." I said remembering my vision.
"You're a third year right?" Harry asked and I nodded. "We know a third year Gryffindor who can show you around, if you are correct. She's Ron's sister." I nodded. The red head seemed a bit rude.
"Don't worry. She's nothing like him." Hermione whispered and I struggled not to laugh.
"Okay." I said. I really didn't know what to say. Did I apologize to Harry for tipping the ministry off about something he didn't do? Did I tell him that I believed he had nothing to do with the World Cup incident?
Luckily Hermione started bombarding me with questions. About all sorts of things. I answered as politely as possible and asked her questions. Eventually Hermione had nothing to ask me. I had lots to ask Harry about the visions I had lately and my prophecy. I wasn't sure now was the time or the place but I had to apologize even if he made fun of me for it.
"Harry, I'm sorry." I said he looked confused but I went on before he could ask any questions. "I'm a seer and I knew about the trouble that was going to happen at the World Cup. I also found out you were going to be blamed even though it wasn't your fault. I wrote to the ministry to try to warn them and keep you out of trouble. It backfired. I'm sorry. I hope you didn't get in much trouble."
He looked unsure of what to say for several minutes. "It's okay. Thank you for trying to help." I smiled. It was my turn not to know what to say.
"You're welcome." I ended up saying. The rest of the train ride was light and easy. I had a feeling though, that that was all about to change.
Soon we arrived at the castle and I went with the first years to be sorted. I felt so weird but I was use to being the odd one out. I always was. You know that one new kid that no one likes because if they liked them then they would like everyone and that apparently would be a problem? Well that was always me. I felt like no one ever gave me a chance because if they liked me then they would have no one to be mean to. I don't know, it's just a way of thinking I have I guess.
Soon the giant had taken us across the grounds, we had met professor McGonagall, and now we were being sorted.
"Alexandra Potter!" A lady with glasses, I now know to be Professor McGonagall, said. I guess there was another Alexandra. After all I was Alexandra May Westlake. But the headmaster was gesturing for me to go up. I had always known that I was adopted, my parents never kept that from me, but non of us knew who I was born to or why they gave me up. What if this man held all the answers.
"Brave Resilient Adaptable and Tolerant. A true Brat." The hat said. Great once again I'll be labeled a brat and not a military one. "You be long in GRYFFINDOR!" The hat yelled.
A whole table of people dressed in robes laced in red stood up and started to clap Harry Potter in particular.
