Dubiety! (Short story)

Chapter 1

Marina P.O.V

My name is Marina Nicole Harrison I am 14 years old, a freshman in high school and I live with my mom. My dad died while my mom was pregnant with me so I've never had the chance to meet him. My mom is the only family I have left, her family doesn't talk to us because they hated the fact that she was with my father. She got pregnant and had me they cut her off completely. My dad's family don't know about me or my mother. My mother always tells me it's because they were very upset with him after they found out about what he did. Mom says My dad was the biggest kingpin in ALT and his family couldn't accept it so they got into a big fight and he cut them off. I've heard a lot if stories about him and he seems like a really cool person. I always think or dream about what it would be like to have him around. Anyways, enough said about that situation we'll save it for later. My mom well she thinks I'm the reason of my father's death and why her family stopped talking to her.

Honestly, sometimes I wish I wasn't born or that I died. All my mom does to me all day is ignore me and when she does talk to me it's mostly negitive. She still buys me nice clothes and the things I need like hygiene things and food but, all I really want is for her to show me love and attention. Sometimes she brings men in the house and does drugs here and there but she's never physically hurt me.

Right now I am walking from our low income apartment complex and heading to school. I have to walk down a bad street with dealers, pimps, prostitutes, thugs, gang bangers and ect. I have peper spray and a taser, I'm not as scared as I should be because people respected my so they respect me and I'm kinda use to it nothing has ever happen to me in these neighborhoods.

I am finally at school and waking thru the security installment they made last year. I walked to my locker and my bestfriend Shawntae was standing next to my locker. "Heyy best!" She said with an excited tone and a big smile.

"Hi. Why are you so excited?" I had a straight face and gave her a dry hi cause I wasn't really in the mood. But my Bestfriend always lightens up my days most of the time.

"Cause my Granny is gone on vacation and I have the house all to myself. Well Keon is going to be there...  but you know he's barley home anyways. She still had a big ole smile on her face. Before I could say anything the bell rung indicating that it was 1st period. Even thou Tae is my bestfriend she doesn't know what I go thru. It's been times where she asked about where I stay and if she could come over but I always told her no because my mother wouldn't allow it. I don't have any classes with her she's in honors and I'm in regular classes. I don't have lunch with her either.

As I was going to first period class I heard people talking about me it was a girl named Kiera.

"Yea her mom be at my door beggin foe sum hard." Then all her friends started giggling.

"Omg fr?! You know what she do to make her money Kiera!" Shay said.

"No I don't what she do?" Kiera laughed.

"Girl she a stripper & she fuck for money." I walked real fast because I was soo embarrassed my cheeks were hot, red, and my heart started beating fast. she said it loud so everyone in the hallway could hear. I usually don't get bullied but some days I will hear things about me.

I ran to the bathroom so everyone couldn't stare at me until the late bell rung. After I came out the stall and washed my hands and rinsed my face. I patted it dry with a napkin and as I was walking out the bathroom she walkin in with her friends.
