Soft lips or rough, really it doesn't matter
One's against another's, the texture getting lost in the feeling
Sliding, a warmth spreads to your heart, your face, your stomach
It overtakes even your mind, filling it with fuzzy coziness
It feels like a perfectly warm drink on a rainy day
Their hands are entwined with yours
You've never felt this safe
Your mouths are still pressed softly, so very softly
You swear you taste the sweetness of candy
Even though it's only them, and you
Gentle arms surround you
They aren't squeezing, just holding to you
As if you were something delicate they would break
But they didn't want to lose
You press deeper
You want them to know that you aren't so delicate
Reassure them you won't be lost so easily
Their hands find a place on your flushed cheeks
Tugging lightly, fingers spreading, buzzing atop your skin
Lips still moving against your own,
Words being shared without words
"Love" may settle easily between the rest
You feel their eyelashes, they're sweet and light
You smile slightly to yourself
Now you know why they call them
Butterfly kisses
