CHAPTER 1: The Diary

Hi there diary I'm not sure how to start this but let me start with my name. My name is Troy Sears. I know I know my last name sounds weird but I got that last name from my great grandpa , Grandpa Tom, who is dead.....but enough of that silly stuff lets talk about my day.

Well today was a very normal day except that today my secret got out to the whole entire school which in my case is really bad because my secret is very um personal and wasn't going to tell anyone until after high school which the plan is now screwed up. I know I know you guys are probably wondering what my secret is well.......I'm gay. Also to top it off I'm in 7th grade and about 90% of the WHOLE school is a homophobe which in my case really sucks. So back to my day, well in the morning I woke up and put on my school uniform and when I looked to find a white collard shirt I just barely noticed that they were all dirty which is bad considering I only have 5. So I had to completely just wash one in 30 mins mins or risk getting detention so I just said "forget it I'm not gonna waste my time just for a damn shirt" so instead I just put on a plain white shirt and some black skinny jeans. That pretty much sums up the early morning part.

So I went to school to find out writing on my locker saying "fag get out of school" Once I read that I started bursting up in tears. Well not literally but I started crying lightly. So then I opened my locker to find a note in my locker. Something about this note seemed very um how do you put this...unusual and different from all the other hate notes I get which I suppose it was until I read it.

As I grabbed the note to read a guy came up to me and just shoved me for no reason and me being my shy scared person I just fell to the floor and flinched. The guy walked away and oh his name is Felix. Felix walked away laughing at me as he walked away telling his friends how much of a wimp I was. I got up from the floor and read the note. My eyes immediately opened in surprise and shock. It said "Hi Troy you probably don't know me because you kind of ignore everyone at school but my name is Alison. I see you around a lot and you seem lonely. We have the same classes. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not like the others and would be gladly to be your friend. So just talk to me whenever.

P.S. here's my number incase you want to call me 769-553-3781." I was happy,excited,shy but also worried because for all I know this can be a trick. I mean no one at school wants to be a friend with a gay guy right?

Then at lunch that girl Alison came up to me and ate lunch with me. There was an awkward silence between us but about after 2 mins she started asking me a whole bunch of questions so I can interact with her and me being my shy self just shyly answered but very low almost in a whisper kind of tone. The lunch bell rang and we both went to class. That pretty much sums my whole day up until this point oh right now it's 4:45 PM. I feel like texting Alison but am to shy to. Well that's it for now diary bye.

8:27 PM

ALISON CALLED ME! This was a shock to me because I never get calls other than my moms. I know sounds funny but it's true. Anyway I asked her "how did you get my number" she replied "the school counselor". "What were you doing there" I asked. "I was in detention but I managed to get your number when the school counselor ,Mr.Oakley, fell asleep." This conversation became very long or at least to me it was because like I said I really never get calls. She seemed very nice and I found out lives across the street from me which I never realized.
