Josh's POV

I was really worried about Ken. When I talked about punishments, she started shaking and shaking her head. Now, it was like she couldn't even hear me.

"Ken. Please talk to me. What's going on?"

"I'll be good! I promise. Please, don't." She was getting quieter with every sentence. She started screaming 'stop' over and over again through her newly formed tears. I reached out to grab her upper arms, where I noticed it was rough under the shirt she was wearing.

"Ken. Please. It's all okay." She started to calm down, and opened her eyes.

"Josh?" she asked quietly. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." More tears fell down her face as she ran upstairs and locked herself in her room. That left me to wonder what just happened.

I walked upstairs and knocked on her door.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Give me a second." I heard her say. She soon opened the door, and I could tell she was trying to hold back tears.

"Sweetheart, what happened down there? You scared the shit out of me." I asked. She looked at me, terrified.

"I'm sorry. It happened sometimes. It's nothing to be scared of." She said, looking down.

"Please just tell me what happened. Please." I begged. She sighed before answering me back.

"You really want to know?" I nodded. She pulled up her shirt and I saw overlapping scars around her torso. It brought tears to my eyes. "Like I said, I've had a bad past. I'm too self-conscience about them, that I don't show anybody. That means I look like the girl who cried wolf. Every time I'm brought to a new house, and they see these, they think it's okay to do the same as the others."

"How many homes?"

"Total? Thirty one adoptive or foster, and three orphanages." I let some tears fall as I slowly go for a hug, to make sure she was okay with it. She accepted the hug as she cried into my chest. My poor baby girl. I made a promise that I would protect her until one of us dies, and let's hope it was me.

"No one is going to hurt you here. You're safe. And, if you want, I wont tell Tyler."

"Thank you, Josh. Seriously, thank you." She said as she lifted her head off my chest.

"No problem, Sweetie. No problem at all. I have about thirty minutes before I need to go over to Tyler's. Wanna watch something?"

"Sounds good." I follow her to the den.

We put on a show we both wanted to see. I left in the middle of the first episode, and told her that she better not finish it without me.

I soon arrive at Tyler's.

"Hey, dude. How was Ken? She seemed pretty pissed yesterday."

"Yeah. We didn't even listen to her side of the story."

"She was calling Sky a liar. Didn't Kristy talk about her claiming to be abused? I'm sorry dude, but I think Ken's the liar."

"You shut your mouth, right now, Tyler. Kennedy is no liar." I said, harshly.

"How do you know?"

"Because I do. How's Sky's eye?"

"She covered it up with make-up today."

"Take a make-up wipe to her eye, and then you can call my daughter a liar. Okay?" I asked, and he nodded. "Now, which song do we start with?"
