"Ok, class, your assignment for tonight is to finish studying for your test tomorrow." the teacher stated as the bell rang. I shoved my books into my bag and left the classroom.

"Hey Ali!" I heard Nat yell through the halls as I walked to my locker. I ignored him. He slammed his hand against the lockers and I jumped and turned around to look at him. "Why didn't you call me back last night?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and turned back around.

"Was it because you were with someone else?" he came around me and leaned against the locker next to mine. "You sound pathetic, Nat." I said. "Oh really, then why didn't you call me back?" he questioned again. I turned to look at him.

"I didn't wanna talk to you. I was ignoring you because, like I said, we're done." I yelled. People in the halls began to stare. "Come on, Ali." he trailed off, grabbing my arm. I ignored him and began to put my books in my locker. "I love you." he said. I looked at him. He had his stupid little smirk plastered onto his face. "I love you too." I gave in after awhile. "That's my baby." he smiled and pecked my lips.

Carter walked up as he walked away. "What the hell was that? I thought you two were done." she quizzed. "I don't even know." I sighed as we walked through the halls.

I played with the ends of my hair as I listened to the teacher drone on about some sad and depressing poem. The teacher was interrupted by the bell. I got up and walked out of the classroom.

I opened my locker and switched out my books for the weekend when I got a call from Andrew. "What do you want?" I answered. "You need to come home right now. It's your mother." he said. He sounded like he was crying.

"What's wrong with her? Is she ok?" I started to worry. "She stopped breathing. I called an ambulance but I can't tell if she's-" I hung up. I slammed my locker and began to run through the halls. Tears began to spill from my eyes.

I ran into someone and fell, but they grabbed me before I fell. I looked up at them. It was a boy I'd never seen before. "Are you crying?" he asked me. "Watch where you're going." I snapped as I pushed him away from me and wiped my eyes. I continued to run.

I got to my car and drove as fast as I could back home. There was an ambulance parked in front of my house. "Hello?" I yelled as I walked in. I heard voices coming from the bedroom. I ran upstairs and into the room. I began to feel dizzy as I walked in. My mom was completely pale and her eyes were shut.

A few of the unfamiliar faces in the room looked at me with sympathetic expressions. I began to cry as Andrew looked back at me. "Alison, I know this is gonna be hard. It will be for both of us." he walked towards me with tears running down his face.

He tried to grab my arm, but I yanked it away. "No..." I just shook my head and backed out of the room. I ran to my room and slammed the door. I locked it and pressed my back against it.

"Alison!" I heard Andrew yell as I put my face in my hands and slid down the door. I couldn't breath and I felt dizzy as if I would pass out. It's not real, I told myself. It's just a horrible nightmare. I fell asleep as those words circled my head.
