"Can I stay tonight? You know... Since Dani will be back tomorrow?" Andy asks while rubbing the back of his neck. I smile at his demeanor.
I think nervous Andy is my new favorite Andy.
"Of course."
I'll admit, I'm still not exactly comfortable with sleeping with him, and I think he understands that. He crawls into the bed with me, but places a pillow between us without a word. I told him goodnight, but all that escaped his lips were soft snores.

After my shower, I walk back into my dorm to find Andy still asleep. I tip toe across the cold floor and straighten my hair. I've noticed that as it grows out, it's becoming more brown than the strange auburn-red tone it was at. I'll need to go get it cut soon also. I lightly apply some makeup and curl my hair as well. It's almost nine, so I climb on to my bed and shake Andy awake. He groans and brings his hands to his face. "Rise and shine." I sing and he shoves me off. Grumpy morning Andy is cute in a way, I suppose. "I need to go look for a job." I tell him quietly. "A job?" He asks while sitting up. I nod.
He rubs his eyes and hops out of the bed without a word, getting up and getting dressed. I get up and take a deep breath. Maybe I should wait until graduation this weekend so that I have my diploma to show. I should just ride around with Andy and get an idea at least. Maybe I can pick up a small job until then. I'll have to look at living areas as well.
Once Andy is dressed, we get into his car, him in the driver's seat as usual. I hate driving, honestly. I am a good driver, sometimes I just make stupid mistakes. I'll never forget the time I was learning how to use my backup cameras on my new car. I was a freshman in high school. It was about two weeks old, and I was so excited and proud of it. My mother had just brought it to the car dealership to get detailed and some new tires. It was thanksgiving, of course, and I brought my family my own turkey when I backed it up into a brick mailbox I didn't see. I was so upset for days, I'm still not really over my own
I laugh quietly at the thought, receiving a weird look from Andy as he starts the car. "Where would you like to look?" He asks me simply, looking over his shoulder as he backs out of the parking lot.
"Actually, stop." I tell him. "Okay..." He trails off in a confused tone as he pulls back into the parking spot. "I need you to teach me something." I tell him. I suddenly feel myself getting a bit nervous which is quite awkward. He smirks cheekily, "I don't think now is the time, love." I blush at the use of his nickname, and feel myself get shaky. He's making me more nervous than ever. "I need you to teach me how to back out of small spaces."
He raises an eyebrow, "You seem fine at it." I laugh nervously, " Just trust me. If only you knew what happened to Ed."
"You ran over someone?"
"No! No! My first car's name was Ed."
"That's... interesting." He makes a face at the name.
"Hey, stop making fun of him. He always ran into mailboxes."
He laughs heartily, and I join in, "Are you sure it was Ed? Or was it his driver?" I slap his arm as he opens the door for us to swap seats.
"Okay. Make sure your mirrors are set correctly first." I do as he tells me and fix everything to my liking. I moved a lot of things down with Andy being well over a foot taller than me. "Now, you're going to want to look over your shoulder and use your rear view mirrors. Go really slowly." I look over my shoulder and begin to back out slowly. "Stop." Andy says, and I do so. "You're turning too early. Pull up and try again."
After a few attempts of that, I've at least got the hang of it decently.
As we ride around town, I see a small house with a sale sign in front of it. "Oh! Andy look!" I say excitedly, "That's a house, Scarlet." I huff, "I know. I have to move out of my dorm, and I don't have a place to stay."
"You're not going to move into my house?" He asks a bit snappily. "Well... Not now. Did you think I was?" He throws his arm up and looks out the window. "Andy, as you know, we aren't exactly stable." "I know that! But, can't you see that I'm trying?" I try to keep my head in check despite his temper, "I can clearly see that you are. Calm down, and take a deep breath. I will move in with you eventually, but I don't think either of us are ready for that at the moment." He scoffs and doesn't say another word, which is probably be the best thing to do. After our small dispute, I decide that I'm not in the mood to look for jobs at the moment. I'll just go start packing up my things and looking into houses.
I park successfully and turn off Andy's car. "Well, I'm going to get my things together and start looking for a temporary home. I need to find one quick. Dani will be home soon as well, so I'll see you later?"
"You think I'm not coming with you?" He asks while getting out of the car and slamming the door, leaving me baffled. I get out of the car and lock it, handing him the keys.
I pull out some old boxes from under my bed just as my mom calls.
"Hey, mom." I say in a not so excited tone as Andy makes eye contact with me. "I figured you needed some help finding a place to stay, and packing your things. Plus, I'm here for your graduation! I'm coming up to your dorm right at this moment!" She continues to talk, but I tune it out. I feel my eyes get wide as I look at Andy. He makes a face and points to the door, and I shake my head rapidly, pointing to the closet. He shakes his head just as there is a knock on the door. "Get in the closet!" I whisper yell as I hit the end button on my phone. "I'm not going to leave! Your mom can deal with it!" He whisper yells back.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. He's right. I can't hide him from my mother forever. She will accept him because he is who I love, right?
Hesitantly, I walk to my dorm room door and turn the knob slowly, unsurely. This is all going to be alright, right?
I open a small crack in the door, "Mom!" The fake excitement was pretty clear in my voice. She pushes the door open to give me a hug, and I felt my stomach drop.
"I don't think so."
